Has the oven in question ever charred a complete oven-filled batch of bread? Did this particular oven have a tendency to get far too hot?
The DOL did their checks, so I assume they looked at the over functioning from cool to heated. No issues reported.Has the oven in question ever charred a complete oven-filled batch of bread? Did this particular oven have a tendency to get far too hot?
I have to agree, as presented, an accident just doesn’t make sense- mooI will never understand how this could be an accident. Something isn't at all right about this case.
My thoughts are that even if this proves to be an accident in terms of she got stuck and couldn't get out, there will almost certainly be culpability in how it was possible for that to happen and if it amounts to criminal neglect.
Ie was the safety mechanism broken preventing her exit? Was this known and no one acted? Does that constitute a criminal act?
Hadn’t thought of that angle…911 caller said oven was on… but had not considered already deceased or not dying in the oven because of the oven -mooWhat if the oven wasn't on at all? Somebody could have used accelerant, lit a match, and shut the oven door. I think she was dead already.
I also had not that of it that way. But I do think she was deceased prior to being placed in the oven. What if the oven wasn't on at all? Somebody could have used accelerant, lit a match, and shut the oven door. I think she was dead already.

Last weekend, Gursimran Kaur's charred remains were found inside the walk-in oven of the Walmart she worked at in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
'I don't even know if I would fit in here,' she said. 'I'm 5 foot 1, medium built. I would have to crouch down to get in.'

Posting this link again to give insight as to how these ovens are built.
Both ovens featured in the article appear to show glass, see-through doors.
Hard to believe a person could be trapped with no one seeing them ?

Personally no- I’ve not come across anything definitiveDo we even know what type or brand of oven was used at this store? I've seen various examples in this article and others but nothing definitive. Most of the examples have been from the US.

I feel the investigation would be being conducted by the DOL and not the police if this had the hallmarks of a workplace accident. I'm not privy to exactly what is going on, but this is the rare case in my back yard.Good question.
I don't know for sure.
One thing is certain, imo --Walmart will have a vested interest in determining if this was foul play (store not liable) or accident (store may be liable).
Although the ovens' maker (company) would be the most liable, if this was an accident ?

Could the stop-work order been for the clean up? It's a gruesome thought but I did see the word "leakage" used in the articles..
Part of "safety" could also be sanitary conditions...

I guess they may come in different sizes, but the one demonstrated in that video had a double door opening to a space the size of a small shower cubicle, but not as tall, so they would have to crouch a little to go inside. I suppose if it was taller, the bakers wouldn't be able to safely reach the goods on the highest racks.why would she not fit in there? are they not tall enough for a large stack of metal trays with bakery items on them??
Daily Mail article says "Kaur's mother was searching through the store for her when she made her way into the bakery section.Wouldn’t the doors have to have glass panels to know that someone was in there?
Since the bakery oven didn’t operate on the weekends how else would they know she was in there?
