LE isn't at our beck and call, their responsibility is to the victim and the state to investigate this death, however long that takes. They're not responsible for people spinning theories on the internet. Wrangling social media and public curiosity isn't their job.

MOO

People are not asking for fun.
Imagine being a worker at this place
I bet everyone is terrified.
No wonder!
Is there working CCTV there?
In such departments where accidents may occur , CCTV is a must IMO.

The store is closed for now, no one is working there at present.

I’d imagine the stores have loads of cameras, all over the place.

In Canada, much of the investigation stays private until court (if it’s a criminal matter) so there will be a long wait for information.

If it’s a civil matter you have a long wait as well but for different reasons.

If it’s a terrible accident, I’d imagine there might be liability issues, law suits etc so information will then be kept private until court.

Do we know the last time she was seen alive?

Did she work her shift?

Was the oven used at all on Saturday?

Could she have been there since Friday night if no reason to use the equipment Saturday?

So strange… moo

well I doubt it - I think her mother would've noticed she didn't come home, even if they weren't scheduled to work together that night

Ok- I couldn’t remember if I’d read that they’d lived together or not

Did her mother go home and noticed she hadn’t come home also or did the mother start looking for her inside the store before leaving?

I was just thinking the same - I shouldn't have assumed they did

No reports of it that I’ve seen… we just don’t know much at all
Speculation: Sometimes bakery workers clean the big ovens with the heat on, which they believe makes the chemicals work better. But that point is not worth much if the oven doors have to be pushed from the outside to close. I don’t know, either.

Walmart is removing the walk-in commercial oven from its Halifax store where a young employee’s remains were discovered last month, but investigators still aren’t saying what led to Gursimran Kaur’s death.[…]

Halifax Regional Police are staying tight-lipped about their probe into Kaur’s death.

“What I can tell you at this point is that the investigation is still open, and our investigators are still working diligently on this matter,” Const. Martin Cromwell, who speaks for the force, said in an email.”

The article went on to say the oven was set to be removed prior to the incident, as part of a remodeling plan.

A family friend said they have not received updates from the police yet about how she died.

Interesting. I wonder if this was an older model of oven, without safety features.

In case that link is paywalled too

The Halifax Police Department announced in a news release on Monday, Nov. 18, that investigators have determined the young woman's death "is not suspicious and there is no evidence of foul play."

Death is NOT suspicious according to LE. Summary here

Halifax police have determined that the death of a young woman whose body was found in a Walmart’s walk-in oven was not suspicious and did not involve foul play.

Halifax Regional Police say they have informed the woman’s family of their findings.

Police say their investigation has determined the death of a 19-year-old Walmart employee found dead inside a Halifax store last month was not suspicious, and there is “no evidence of foul play.”

In a Monday update, Halifax Regional Police said investigators had met with the family to share the findings, and that the family has asked for privacy.

Very sad. It sounds to me that it might have been intentional. The store is still closed but they are working on a reopening & the oven has been removed.

No foul play

….and that the store had complied with safety standards.

Poor woman must have had an undiagnosed medical issue that led to her death.

**************

There is NO hint that it was intentional.
