Curtis Bonnell will testify at his trial.

He didn't kill anyone, defence lawyer Gilles Lemieux said during his opening remarks.

He is scheduled to take the stand on Monday, Lemieux said, as Hilary's mother, father, stepfather, aunt and several of her friends looked on.

Great, get this guy on the stand. He is a rapist of more than one person and what's he gonna say...she got him angry because SHE wanted him to pay for having sex (RAPE!) with her???? Keep blaming the victim Curtis. You will go to jail and remain there hopefully until you die.

More crapolla from the suspect. He's totally changing his story on the stand about what happened.

Bonnell told the Miramichi courtroom he woke up on Sept. 5, 2009, in his truck, which was parked at his father's garage in Tabusintac, to find Hilary slumped over in the passenger seat unresponsive.

Bonnell said he didn't know who it was at first so he got out of truck, opened the passenger door and Hilary started to fall out.

He thought she was passed out from drinking, but when he grabbed her arm, it was rigid and she had no colour in her face.

He started to panic, he said. "What am I going to do? Nobody's going to believe me.

"I just got out of jail. Nobody's going to believe an Indian.

Oh brother, please. You were charged with ANOTHER rape too.

Curtis Bonnell testified Tuesday that he led RCMP to where Hilary Bonnell's body was buried because he didn't know how she died.

He thought police would be able to tell him what had happened, he said.

He said he couldn't remember much of the night before because he had been blacking out, and when he found her, he panicked. He left her body in the wooded area, then returned later to bury her, he said.

Bonnell took police to her shallow grave site on Nov. 9, a day after he was arrested on a separate matter.

Yeah, raping someone else. Pffffftttt...Keep telling BS on the stand Curtis. Wow.

Curtis Bonnell finished testifying at his first-degree murder trial Wednesday afternoon, just hours after he was found lying on the floor of his holding cell and was rushed by ambulance to the Miramichi Hospital.

Bonnell returned to the stand at about 1:30 p.m. for his second day of cross-examination by the Crown.

No details about Bonnell's condition were discussed in court.

Bonnell broke down crying, saying he never murdered Hilary, or had sex with her and had been waiting three long years to tell his story.

Asked by his lawyer about his confession to RCMP, Bonnell said he told them what they wanted to hear; that it was all lies because he felt pressured and just wanted the interrogation to be over.

Bonnell said lead investigator Sgt. Greg Lupson kept hammering him with questions and putting suggestions in his head; bringing up possible situations and going to great lengths to talk about possible sexual activities between him and Hilary.

Bonnell said he got fed up and eventually gave in. He said he put together a story based on what Lupson had said.

You BROUGHT LE TO HER BODY.

WTF??????? Why take her and bury her IF she ended up dead in your truck and you didn't do anything to cause it? So your DNA is gone from her body probably because of the clay that coated her body. Who goes to that length to hide someone who just died unless that person was murdered?????? LIAR. JMO

The jury in Curtis Bonnell’s first-degree murder trial is expected to hear closing remarks on Thursday afternoon and will likely start deliberating on Friday.

Court of Queen’s Bench Justice Fred Ferguson said on Wednesday that closing statements from the Crown and the defence will start at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.

He told the jury he will give them their final instructions on Friday at 9:30 a.m. and told them to bring their overnight bags.

If the jury is unable to reach a verdict before 9 p.m. on Friday, they will be sequestered in a hotel and they will return to the court to continue deliberating on Saturday.

Yay!!!! Justice is coming very soon Hilary. Hugs to Hilary's friends and family.

MIRAMICHI, N.B. -- The lawyer for Curtis Bonnell says the jury at his trial must decide if a crime was committed in the death of his cousin three years ago in New Brunswick, a suggestion the Crown flatly dismissed Thursday, pointing to a videotape confession as a key piece of evidence.
In his closing arguments in the Court of Queen's Bench, Gilles Lemieux asked the jury why Bonnell would have led police to where 16-year-old Hilary Bonnell was buried if he killed her.
"If Curtis Bonnell had committed murder and tried to cover it up, why would he tell where the body was and ask for help to determine what happened?" he said.

thanks for the updates throughout the trial, a guilty verdict was what I expected, for her family at least they now know her killer has been caught and convicted, and that will at least bring them a modicum of peace,
