I love that there are cases in the US that have underage individuals tried as adults, especially for serious crimes.

I don't know if this option exists in Australia either. I don't hear about any named teenage offenders. 10 years ago a 15 years old shot a police accountant dead outside the Sydney police headquarters, and was subsequently shot dead by police. The boy's name was disclosed but then he had

The one thing I disagree with is giving them life sentences. At 14 or 15, it's ridiculous.

So far none of the sentenced has been given any more than months of probation. I am not holding my breath for the remainder of the accused.

Perhaps the word "swarming" has to be removed from reporting, since that action carries no shared accountability, and each accused was judged just on their individual actions.
