RCMP Release said:
Jarrett Whitford description:
  • Caucasian male;
  • Height: 183 cm (6’00);
  • Weight 86 kgs (189lbs.);
  • Hair: Brown;
  • Eyes: Hazel;
  • Operating a light grey coloured 2015 Nissan Micra displaying Alberta Licence Plate.

His bank card was last used for a food purchase in Hope, BC, on Sept 29, 2020, which is where police confirmed he was last seen (via CCTV footage examined in October), but there has been no phone activity: Police spot missing Alberta man on video, in Hope - Chilliwack Progress.

Here's CCTV frame from the Hope gas station he was spotted:

The police release must be wrong in that it claims the car was found at the 9300 block of Marine Drive -- no such location exists in North Vancouver. His vehicle was located four months later on Jan 21, 2021, likely in the parking lot of Capilano Mall near 930 Marine Dr, North Vancouver - I have asked RCMP to advise on a correction.

No foul play or criminal activities involved according to the investigation thus far.

From the news update on Mar 11, 2021 at Mounties and family release renewed call for man missing in B.C. nearly six months:

Whitford, 32, stopped to gas up his light grey 2015 Nissan Micra in Hope on Sept. 19 of last year. Police say he was driving to North Vancouver. [...] Police believe someone drove the car from Hope to the North Vancouver parking lot on Sept. 20, 2020.

According to RCMP, his car was driven and parked at the mall in September 2020. It was located four months later in January 2021. It is strange that nobody at the mall, not even the mall security, had the vehicle towed from the parking lot, despite your usual notices that vehicles are allowed to park for up to four hours only for shopping purposes before they are towed at owner's expense.

It is unclear whether Whitford was involved in any illegal activities - family doesn't believe that to be the case. RCMP is silent on the matter.

He was renting in South-East Edmonton and had been looking for a job.

No other online activities or details that I could dig up.

Missing person: vehicle of 34-year-old white Edmonton man, last seen in September 2020, found in North Vancouver

''UFVRD RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Mike Rail stated in a news release that evidence that has been gathered so far “does not point toward a criminal act”. Cpl. Rail added that investigators are asking anyone in the Capilano area of North Vancouver who may have relevant information to contact police.

Anyone who knows of Whitford’s whereabouts is asked to contact their local police agency or, to remain anonymous, Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.''
