Aaaaaand... who wrote the letter? Was it handed back to Missing Persons?I had to retype the portions of the letter that I thought I could add my opinion as to the meaning, so please excuse any errors.

First three paragraphs are pretty standard, non-remarkable sentences, as is the last one. Here are the portions that I find relevant:
The Missing Persons Unit is understaffed and swamped. They usually handle cases that are non-suspicious and fairly routine. When a case is handed over to Major Crimes, it is usually because it is more complex and there is evidence that it is criminal in nature. They have more resources and manpower to devote to cases that suggest foul play is involved. They do not handle the one's where Grandma got lost coming home from the Alzheimer clinic. IMHO, I suspect that they have solid evidence that foul play is involved and the people responsible have criminal records.
They have done the leg-work on her background and feel that it is uncharacteristic of her to voluntarily take off. They have also interviewed the usual suspects like family, ex boyfriend's, the roommate and other people that are classic for these types of cases. They have also developed a working theory on why she is missing and who is responsible.
IMHO, they are saying - We know who you are, we know you have lied to us, and we are going to catch you. We also know that there are people that know facts about this case that are not directly involved, that are not being truthful or coming forward. There are also people that are worried that they will be unfairly charged, and we assure you that we will keep an open mind and support you.

Of course, that is just what *I* think they are saying. Police Officer's have a language all their own, and being around it my whole life helps with the translation. However, they are also a crafty bunch that sometimes use deception and double-talk to trap a suspect, so if that is the case, it would be next to impossible to try and discern what they are actually saying without knowing their plan.
To me, this seems like a very heavy handed bluff to get her to come out of hiding, or for someone to give her up. They don't "officially" know she left on her own, so they have to make contact to be 100% sure. This seems like an odd and risky maneuver if they expect to go to court and make murder charges stick.
I have yet to see any signs she actually wanted 50/50 custody. Look at how the roommate stumbles over it in the video interview... she would never miss a visitation, but uh yeah they talked about the 50/50.
It was the reporter that chose the word "abductors"...
Why don't we see a letter like this in other cases... like Shannon Burgess...
I find the fact that the Sun article claims she was last seen being dropped off at home as opposed to at work rather interesting. Seems to go against everything we've heard so far. New info from someone?
How tacky of you to reply to yourself, but after reading that statement again, it struck me odd that they make this public chest thump, and then qualify it by saying she may have dropped out of sight... which in itself, is an interesting choice of words. What do you make of that statement?
"One of the possibilities is that shes deceased, Hebert said. The other one is that she has decided to move on with her life and completely drop out of sight.

It said she didn't go inside, so if there is foul play involved, then it does expose who the last person to see her was.It is interesting. Why hasn't CPS issued a revised Missing Persons report to reflect this significant detail? The report should now list her street and the time she was last seen. Is this confirmed or what is the deal here?
So if it has been confirmed that JN was dropped at her home is that verified by the roommate (MH)? Did MH change his story and is now saying he saw her at home around 9:30 that evening? Was he out when she came home and by the time he returned she was gone again? Did she make it into the house? Why didn't she take her phone when she left again? Who drove her home? Was it one of the ex-boyfriends? Maybe she did take a cab.
I keep thinking that whoever else knew about court the following day saw it as the perfect opportunity to make her disappear because all suspicion would be on KCR.
My interpretation of what I read was that the ID was part of the incident allegedly witnessed a month prior... perhaps how they met...I wish we knew when AP found JN's wallet.
there is a Poirier that lives several blocks from her place of work and the #1 bus route runs the length of the city east west (very long route and connector route), so there's a chance that it was found near a bus stop for AP (if he doesn't drive)My interpretation of what I read was that the ID was part of the incident allegedly witnessed a month prior... perhaps how they met...

Her Mother said AP was "wanted" for questioning regarding an incident a month prior to the disappearance. AP's friend hinted that the incident was a fight interrupted, and a threat with a knife. AP claimed he gave her ID back to police.I will have to check again but I thought the incident with the wallet was described as happening "a month ago" (from the time of the AP request for info.) and not "a month prior" (to her disappearance).
On the evening of Tuesday, March 10, Jessica Newman was seen at an undisclosed location in Forest Lawn. She has not been heard from since.

Jessica Rae Newman, a 24-year-old mother of three, was last seen when an ex-boyfriend dropped her off at her Forest Lawn home at about 9:30 p.m. March 10. She later vanished and did not appear in court the next day for a child custody hearing over her two-year-old.

Has the writer of the letter been officially identified? The signature is oddly large, an illegible mix of writing, printing and scribble (purposefully?), and not left justified.
It starts with the usual formalities, and ends with none. The strange switch from a letter to her, to a letter for everyone seems very un-LE-like.
