Remains of missing person found in Bridgewater, N.S., death ‘suspicious’

Police in Bridgewater, N.S., say they have found the remains of a missing person and they are treating their death as “suspicious.”

Finn McDormand, 21, was reported missing around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Police say McDormand ran off from their parents while in Gow’s Home Hardware.

Both police and McDormand’s family were concerned about their wellbeing, as they lived with medical issues.

A Bridgewater Police Service K9 team found McDormand’s remains in a secluded wooded area near Forest Hill Road Wednesday''.

Subject: Police looking for Missing Person
Bridgewater Police Service was contacted on March 3 ,2026 at approximately 4:30 pm regarding a person missing that ran off from their parents while in Gows Home Hardware. Jinny “Finn” McDORMAND has not been seen or heard from since that time. They have medical issues which may place their safety at risk. Finn McDORMAND is 21 years old, small build and has short strawberry blond hair. They were last seen wearing a black and white striped shirt (as seen in the attached photo), tan combat boots and a black cross body bag and no jacket. They have a large bandage on their left arm, similar to the attached photo but larger.''
