Flights to resume out of St. John's, N.L., as search for missing man suspended
''RCMP announced Tuesday evening that the search for Joshua Wall, a 26-year-old man who’s been missing since Friday, has been suspended.

Spokeswoman Glenda Power said in a statement that despite “exhaustive efforts,” Wall — who was last seen leaving his home for a friend’s house at the height of the storm on Friday — has not been found.

“Bay Roberts RCMP continue to urge residents in the area to check their properties, including backyards, sheds, barns and other outbuildings, as well as vehicles, in the event Joshua sought shelter there,” Power said.''

''The family of Joshua Wall say they are not giving up on finding him.

Wall went missing during the storm on Friday in the Roaches Line area.

Wall’s cousin, Katelynn Hamlyn, says they are getting volunteers together to continue the search now that the police dogs cannot be affected by scent. Their volunteer efforts will begin on Thursday.
She says there is still hope. Hamlyn explains that all the search efforts have been exhausted since Wall went missing. She says getting the community together will help get more eyes and ears on the ground to go into the spots they could have missed, or Wall could have moved to.

The group will meet in the community to spread out and search the area.

They are also asking the public for a lend of snowshoes for the efforts. You can contact them through Facebook.''

''The family put a call out on Facebook for volunteer searchers, and was met with an overwhelming response. Offers of help came from as far away as the United States.

Volunteers met at 379 Roaches Line on Thursday morning, and roughly 40 gathered again at 8:30 a.m. Friday before heading out on snowshoes and snowmobiles.''

"It's been really tough. Me and my brother were really close," said Sarah Wall on Friday morning. "He is my role model. He really is. My parents, they're very upset about it."

Wall said she anticipates they'll find her brother alive, whether it takes another day, or another week.''

Thanks for the update @Lexiintoronto How sad for this family. It's good that Joshua was found now, and that they didn't have to wait until Spring. At least they can touch him once more before he is laid to rest.

Sad but not terribly unexpected news, my heart goes out to his family and respect for the wonderful people who searched for him.

Wondering if Josh might have succumbed to hypothermia or the blankets of snow?
