Did anyone have time to watch this? I listened while at work, there were a couple of interesting points made:
-strange neighbor inserting themselves into the case
-young man, Lucas, who committed suicide 3 weeks after Justin disappeared
-changing timelines in Bud and Kiera’s statements
-sister claimed an employee from McClarren Press stated that Bud did call in for Justin.
I hope these comments are allowed. What are everyone’s thoughts?
Thank you, @Skillz, for your excellent summary of the interview Linda did with the brave and loving sister of Justin. I'd like to add some further recollections about the interview.
- The stranger whom Kristen states continuously "tries to inset themselves into the case and the investigation" lives in the same mobile-home park as Justin did.
Kristen says, "This person continues to attempt to be part of our family's grief...has convinced themselves that Justin was in love with them...has made up many lies and stories about it... tried to go live themselves..., has convinced themselves they are part of our family, and they're not...say they know the truth, and they don't, and if they do, go to the police. "
- Lucas, the young man whose death was attributed to suicide lived in the same mobile-home park as Justin, and Kristen stated he knew Justin and had visited him at his bonfire.
- Kristen underlines how Bud and Kiera can give details about where they were and what they did on the Saturday (before the Monday on which he was reported missing), but not about their activities on the Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of that week.
- She also underlines that the last time Justin was seen by anyone other than those who lived in the home with him, was on the Wednesday, when he worked until 8am. Justin was supposed to work on Thursday and Sunday but didn't show up, nor did he report he would not be there.
It's very odd that Kiera denied Bud had called into work for Justin (link provided upthread in a previous post I made) when Kristen has stated an "individual" from McClarren Press verified he did. As it's no crime to call your workplace for a coworker who happens to be a friend, why would there be a perceived need to lie about having done so, unless one attempting to protect oneself from repercussions?
It's somewhat startling and definitely illuminating to listen to the details Kristen cites in the changing accounts of events given by Bud and Kiera. I can't be convinced they are guilty of the crime against Justin until proven so in a court of law, but their behaviour is certainly bizarre.
Kristin tells us there was " a large amount of blood" found in Justin's shed.
IMO, it's inexplicable that when a person is missing and his hang-out shed is found by his friend to have "a large amount of blood" in it, that the friend would not alert the police until the family implored them to do so four hours after the discovery.
When asked if it was true Bud had taken photos of the shed and showed them at work, Kristen responds with
"Yes. He did take photos of the shed. He told us on the very first night we were there he had taken pictures to show his Mom'."
She continues, " we are 99% sure he showed them at work. People have "reached out to us with proof".
I'd imagine LE has interviewed the neighbour who wants to be part of Justin's family's grief, and has also investigated the circumstances of Lucas's alleged suicide.
As an aside, I was impressed by Linda's sensitive management of her interview with Kristen, and deeply touched by Kristin's whole presentation, and how much she adores her Justin.
