CANADA Canada - Kai Pavlovic, 11, not found at wellness check, may be w/unk caretaker, late dad's family in NZ concerned for his safety, Burnaby BC, Sep 2025

Do we know who saw K in late September? Was it at school? I may have missed this information
Late September was the date of the welfare check. The overseas families had not had contact with him for about a year. If he was in school in Canada, it would be easy to determine when he stopped coming, but for some reason they are not releasing that information. In that case, the parents must have justified his absence to the school. Then there are his friends and after school activities. The authorities seem to be interested in those.

Did anyone from either side of the family have had any contact with him this year?
SBM. Not that any of them would mention. They might have received pictures of him, but those could be older.

I don't see Kai's extended families as a threat. Something must be wrong with the parents. (JMO)

New article, but not much news. A private investigator gives his opinion about the situation:

“There could be information out there on cell networks that would give an indication as to where they (Kai and the caretaker) are or, perhaps, where they have been. And I think there are certain scenarios that, certainly, the police can access that information. And there are times where the private sector can access similar information as well.”

I'm guessing the PI refers to cell phone data and/or surveillance cameras. The question is, is the information still preserved months later?

This is a month old video with a couple of small details:

When asked if he was in danger, police said that the boy's family told them it wasn't unusual that Kai was with the caregiver.

A PI interviewed stated that the billboards were a good idea, but they came too late.

It is an interesting, although short video, @indicolite22.

This means that Kai was staying with that caregiver, maybe a few times before his disappearance. That must be a person whom the family trusted enough to leave a child with, but something went wrong. Perhaps that person was making certain plans, but behaved in a friendly manner to gain the family's confidence.

But this is MOO. It is so strange that there is no news after 2 months of Kai's disappearance. I hope he will be found safe.

If you listen to the video closely, you'll notice that the officer says "Kai's family has told us that" he was staying with the unidentified caregiver, etc.

Police are not saying that they, themselves, know that information to be true.

IMO, in addition to calling this caretaker 'unidentified', I would also call them 'alleged', but obviously police are not yet taking that leap.
