According to some posts on FB (posted by his late father's family and friends), the father was Montenegrin and the mother from NZ. Father died due to complications caused by COVID a few years ago. Apparently, the mother remarried and had another baby. There is some additional information, but it may be of a private nature, so I am not posting it here.

But the family from Montenegro contacted the mother's family in NZ and both families are concerned. Kai's aunt (the mother's side) is the one coming to Canada to help with the search. I think I got it right this time

That is the concern at this time. If police cannot obtain any information beyond "with a caregiver", it seems like something is wrong.

I agree... If there's a "wellness check," all the custodial parent has to do is let them see the child, or arrange to have them meet the child wherever he may be. If that can't be done, the worst is likely.

And if this is the case, it is starting to feel like the Daybell case.
God, I hope this is not the case.
