CANADA Canada - Kai Pavlovic, 11, not found at wellness check, may be w/unk caretaker, late dad's family in NZ concerned for his safety, Burnaby BC, Sep 2025

According to some posts on FB (posted by his late father's family and friends), the father was Montenegrin and the mother from NZ. Father died due to complications caused by COVID a few years ago. Apparently, the mother remarried and had another baby. There is some additional information, but it may be of a private nature, so I am not posting it here.

But the family from Montenegro contacted the mother's family in NZ and both families are concerned. Kai's aunt (the mother's side) is the one coming to Canada to help with the search. I think I got it right this time :)

That is the concern at this time. If police cannot obtain any information beyond "with a caregiver", it seems like something is wrong.
I agree... If there's a "wellness check," all the custodial parent has to do is let them see the child, or arrange to have them meet the child wherever he may be. If that can't be done, the worst is likely.

And if this is the case, it is starting to feel like the Daybell case.
God, I hope this is not the case.

Burnaby RCMP renews plea for information in search for missing 11-year-old

October 9, 2025 - Burnaby, British Columbia
From: Burnaby RCMP

The Burnaby RCMP is renewing its plea for information and is sharing additional photos and a family statement as part of the ongoing investigation to locate missing 11-year-old Kai Pavlovic.

On September 26, 2025, Burnaby RCMP received a request for a well-being check for Kai. Investigators have spoken with Kai’s family members and have reason to believe Kai is staying with a caretaker who police are actively working to identify.

“We believe there are people who know who this caretaker is, and where they are located, and we are appealing to them to come forward and speak to police,” said Burnaby RCMP Media Relations Officer Cpl. Laura Hirst. “Our number one priority is to find Kai and confirm his safety and well-being.”

Investigators are also hoping to speak to community members who may have had interactions with Kai as part of his daily routine. In particular, we want to speak to any adults or parents whose children have been participating in playdates, sports, and/or extra curricular activities with Kai. We would also like to speak to any operators or instructors from sports or activities which Kai has been involved in.

“Our officers have been working non-stop to locate Kai and are employing a number of techniques to gather information and help move the investigation forward,” said Cpl. Hirst, “The best way for the public to help us is to keep an eye out for Kai and contact us immediately if they have any information on his whereabouts.”

Investigators remain in close communication with members of Kai’s family and his extended family, who wished to share a statement about him with the public.

“Kai is a bright, curious, outgoing and kind little boy who loves to climb trees, build forts and learn to sail. He is a friend to all animals and particularly adores horses, cats and dogs.

Kai's family in New Zealand love him dearly, and they are asking anyone with any information on Kai's location to please immediately contact Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999"

Burnaby RCMP is also sharing additional images of Kai as part of the investigation. He is described as being approximately 5’0”, with a thin build, and brown hair.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kai Pavlovic is urged to contact the Burnaby RCMP at 604-646-9999 or their local police.

So why are there no recent photos. These look to be a lot younger than 11 years. Hinky meter on
