I had that same thought when a fellow poster just made me realize gas bar is a Canadian term. Who knew? :)

gas bar - Wiktionary
Yes, gas bar = gas station. :) Though I probably should have said station. Gas bar is more typical language for a regular “big” gas station - multiple covered pumps, convenience store etc etc.

I think it's a regional thing. Not common around where I am anyway. We say gas station.

These two are behaving more as spree killers, than as serial killers.

There’s a long history of this sort of thing; teenagers who just want to kill.

If history is any indication, these two will move on to a kidnapping.
And getting supplies (food and gas) takes money. Where the heck are they getting money?

Why do we think the rav4 was located yesterday? The tweet I found is from a few hours ago and it's a girl posting about info a friend has sent to her from the area. It's all fairly recent, like within the last few hours.

someone took a photo of it yesterday on fire
then today someone posted a pic of it burnt out

They may have stolen from their victims.

Regardless, they will need more. That’s why I think a holdup or kidnapping is likely.

Now that their names are out there, I do think this will have a resolution in the next couple days.

Hopefully it’s not a violent end.

I just hope some poor person doesn’t run across them...

Yeah, but it's not as if their goal is to drive into a country where you can't be traced and escape to live on and tell stories.

This behaviour is boxing themselves into a lonely corner with no escape outlet across a border.

Either die in a lonely black fly-laden bog in a hail of bullets, or face a surrender to grow old and become forgotten inside a prison

Who knows what’s in their heads. They started at Port Alberni. Maybe the goal is as simple as dipping a hand in both the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans before ending things one way or another. Making it across the country, just because it’s there.

It’s a matter of time at this point.

These two are the most dangerous people in Canada, and they have nothing to lose.

They know that.

There are a shocking number of cases just like this one.

It isn’t a recent phenomenon either.
These two haven’t thought very far ahead, and they don’t have an endgame./QUOTE][/QUOTE]

Maybe there’s a correlation with selling milk in bags. :)

Chynna and Lucas likely had a decent amount of money for their road trip. Your post just made me wonder if the suspects forced them to give their PIN number up and LE got surveillance of them withdrawing money.

I would be ok with violence against each other.

Though I do hope no others are involved in the coming ending.

Maybe they're seeking an "idyllic life by the sea" on the east coast, like Danny and Robert Sand. They already had a life by the sea on the west coast.

If the unidentified victim had a credit card they could potentially be using that too and it would be harder to trace since he's unidentified

Former FBI profiler, John Douglas has written extensively about spree killers.

Here’s a solid quote that differentiates these guys from the other types.

“A serial killer expects to get away with it, a mass murderer doesn’t, and a spree killer probably hasn’t thought that far ahead.”

This will probably end in a double suicide, or a shootout with law enforcement.

Unless they are caught completely off guard, then there’s not a lot of hope for a peaceful apprehension.

Yep! Only way to buy 4 L/1 gallon of milk in Ontario and points east. We have 1 and 2 L cartons too.
