Found Deceased Canada - Katrina Blagdon 37, picking up food w/ bf, St Catharines, ONT, 31 Dec 2021

Unfortunately I've seen no recent updates on Katrina's case in MSM. This is the most recent post I've seen:

Family and friends of Katrina Blagdon

“I honestly don’t know at this point (what may have happened to her),” she said. “I know she was last seen with her boyfriend and she vanished out of thin air and since then we have not seen her or heard from her. No contact. Nothing.”

I'm very curious to know what Katrina's BF's statement was to LE about her disappearance. I don't think they've released any information about him, but based on what we know so far I would hope LE would be taking a very close look at their relationship.

I'm hoping to see some updates from LE or MSM on Katrina's disappearance. Very strange no one has seen or heard from her in so long.

Family pleads for help finding missing St. Catharines mother of 2 | NiagaraFallsReview.ca
th

''Kelly said based on what investigators have told her family, “they believe 100 per cent that the circumstances are suspicious, that is what the detective says.”

She said her sister left without her purse, wallet or bank card: “She doesn’t have her vehicle, she doesn’t have her house keys, she doesn’t have a change of clothes.

“She didn’t take anything except for a phone that she hasn’t used since 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.”

Katrina Blagdon is described as white, five-foot-four with a slim build, dirty-blonde hair and tattoos.

Retired from the Canadian military on long-term disability with pension, she moved to St. Catharines in 2015 and owns her home but planned to sell it and return to Nova Scotia this spring.

“She didn’t have a care in the world” besides raising her two teenaged sons, her sister said.

She had no other family in Niagara, and at various times seven family members have been here to take part in searches, including her mother and stepfather Shawn Muma.

“We will not leave,” said Kelly Blagdon, who lives in Ottawa but has rented a place in Niagara since early January.

In addition to local residents familiar with Niagara’s terrain, many of the searchers have been current and former military members''

A very heartfelt and emotional appeal for assistance from Katrina's family. I encourage everyone interested in this case to watch it.

Katrina Blagdon Family Appeal Video - YouTube

I've seen no recent updates in Katrina's case. There's been no additional information from LE recently AFAIK. I was hoping by now someone local to that area would have come forward and shared information with LE if they had seen Katrina that night or saw/heard anything suspicious.

In the video her family says Katrina would never be out of contact for this long, and that is very concerning.

We still have no further information regarding her BF's statement. AFAIK he is the last person to actually see Katrina. My understanding is that he told LE that he fell asleep early on New Years Eve and that Katrina was missing when he woke up.

Since people cannot simply vanish, there must be a logical explanation as to how and why she disappeared.

We don't know much about Katrina's relationship with her BF. IMO more information in this area would be helpful.

After further reflection, based on what's been officially released by MSM and LE, IMO the events that took place at the time of Katrina's disappearance likely happened suddenly, without warning or advance planning on her part.

If Katrina was planning on leaving her home she shared with her BF for some reason, then logically she would have gathered some clothes, her wallet, some cash, credit/debit cards, etc. and taken those with her when she left. However, AFAIK, all that was missing, besides Katrina, was her cellphone. Everything else was left behind. Anyone planning to leave would have packed more than just a phone.

In addition, if she willingly left her home, then it seems highly likely she would have made contact with her family shortly afterward.

Katrina was reported to have PTSD so it's possible this came into play. Any kind of MH issues can negate logic and lead to irrational decisions. How or if PTSD may have impacted Katrina's actions that night are unknown.

I'm wondering if her family and friends, or whoever else she was in communication with shortly before she disappeared, would be able to tell if Katrina was acting normally.

What I find interesting about this is that her friend, Thomasina Plourbe, was quoted as saying that Katrina doesn't trust anyone, whereas in the video, the first word her older sister Kelly used to describe Katrina was trusting.

Probably not a big deal, just found it interesting that 2 people viewed that particular aspect of Katrina in such a contradictory way.

Thomasina Plourde said:
“I think Katrina is scared of something and I think she ran,” she said. “She doesn’t trust anybody. And if she were to run I’m afraid she would come here.....”

Kelly said:
Trina is trusting, she's kind, she goes out of her way for every single person she meets. Trina has an outstanding sense of humor...

Yes, I found it strange that her sister also said Karina "didn't have a care in the world" when her friend said she had severe PTSD.

Unfortunately mental health issues can play significant roles in MP cases. I'm following several other MP cases where MH issues, either officially diagnosed or suspected by family members, may be involved. IMO cases involving MH issues can negate logical explanations for disappearances. The recent Randa Davidson case comes to mind.

In Katrina's case, I read about her having PTSD issues from her time in the military, but we don't have many details. I don't recall whether she was being treated for PTSD before she disappeared, and it's not clear whether PTSD issues were even involved in her disappearance.

In addition to more information regarding Katrina's BF, it would be helpful to know more about her state of mind from family and friends in the days leading up to her disappearance. Did her phone calls or texts seem odd or suspicious in any way before she disappeared?

There's basically no information in MSM but there is a lot of information on the family's Facebook page - it's called MISSING: Katrina Blagdon: Trina's Army. Not sure if it can be linked here, but a lot of questions that have been brought up here have been answered (by her family) there.

@JaneTennison thank you, I'll have a look if this is a publicly-available FB page. I haven't seen any updates on Katrina's case from LE or MSM in quite some time.

I was able to see this public FB page and read the comments there. I won't mention anything specific here but it appears Katrina's family have searches planned.

As per the FB page, the family states that Katrina's disappearance is SUSPICIOUS and that her mental health is not a factor.

I agree. IMO Katrina's disappearance is very suspicious. We still don't know much/anything about what her BF told LE about events that night.
