''The family and friends of a St. Catharines woman missing since New Year’s Eve are planning a grid search in the north end of the city Saturday and are welcoming volunteers.
Katrina Blagdon, 37, was last seen on Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. at takeout restaurant Firehouse Subs on Fourth Avenue in St. Catharines.''

Family and friends continue search for missing St. Catharines woman | The Star
“We haven’t stopped searching,” said her sister Kelly, who’s been travelling back and forth from Ottawa as part of the effort.

“We’ve been all over the place. As far as Pickering, to Niagara-on-the-Lake, down to Fort Erie, Grimsby, we’ve been everywhere. We’re slowly and methodically crossing it off.”

The group is planning a week-long search of the area near Twelve Mile Creek for clues to Katrina’s whereabouts but are doing a big push on Saturday.

Kelly said the group didn’t search around that area in January or February because it was so full of snow and they couldn’t get close enough or deem it safe.

She said anyone interested in helping with the search can meet in the parking area on Henley Island at 11 a.m. Saturday. Groups will then break off from there. Volunteers are asked to come prepared with gloves, walking sticks if needed and hydration.

It will be mostly a ground search but the group has put out a call for rowers or kayakers to assist.''

Family pleads for help finding missing St. Catharines mother of 2 | NiagaraFallsReview.ca
th

<snip>...

Retired from the Canadian military on long-term disability with pension, she moved to St. Catharines in 2015 and owns her home but planned to sell it and return to Nova Scotia this spring.

<snip>...

I wonder if she was planning to take the BF with her when she returned to Nova Scotia? If not, perhaps this was an issue. Leaving a relationship can be a dangerous time for a woman.

Due to TOS issues with the public FB content I won't mention any specifics here regarding the post by Katrina's sister. However, I will say that my original thoughts regarding Katrina's BF are unchanged. IMO the details of her disappearance are very suspicious. The idea Katrina would simply walk away, leaving everything behind, and not contact her family for nearly three months doesn't seem believable. MOO.

Per KB (Katrina's sister, FB group admin) post on this link, it's interesting to note that Katrina's BF has apparently changed the locks on the home he shared with her.

FB link

I'm not positive the home was actually owned by Katrina, but the post makes it sound that way. If true, then I find it odd that her BF would be changing locks on a home he didn't own.

Missing ex-soldier's phone tracked to Thorold – days after she disappeared

Through a professional, privately retained by the family, Blagdon said the family has learned that Katrina's cellphone pinged off a cell tower in the area on January 2–two days after she went missing.

"While it was not active, its last location was pinged in Thorold," Kelly Blagdon said. "The location tracker was on, and that is why we now separate our time between Thorold and the area she was last seen."

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The phone signal, and a Facebook login around 3 a.m. on that same day, January 2, now begins to tell a different story about the timeline of her disappearance, said Kelly Blagdon, who said the phone disappeared off the radar just moments after it was remotely located.

The latest post on the family's FB page says that bones were found during the todays search.

<Edit>Family thinks the bones have nothing to do with Katrina.

Katrina Blagdon’s cellphone pings in south Thorold two days after she
vanished

Family’s search for missing sister: ‘No limit to price you would pay for the kind of closure you need’
That’s the last trace of Katrina Blagdon, from Jan. 2, two days after she went missing. Her family has been searching for the St. Catharines woman for the past three months.

“I want the world to know what we know” since the search started, “but we can’t do that because it’s more important to me that whoever has done this and caused this pays for it,” said her sister, Kelly Blagdon.

She doesn’t want to jeopardize the police investigation by saying too much.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kelly Blagdon said her family hired a private investigator shortly after Trina was reported missing. That’s who detected Trina’s cellphone presence in south Thorold Jan. 2.

“So either at that time, either the person responsible for her missing or she herself was in Thorold. Because that’s the only thing she had on her,” said Kelly.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Asked by The Standard this week if investigators suspect foul play, an NRP spokesperson said it “remains a missing person investigation.”

Step 1: Go to court and kick deadbeat boyfriend out of the house.
Step 2: Go over that house with luminol.
Step 3: Go over Jeep with a fine tooth comb.
Step 4: Report all findings to police, let boyfriend get arrested and sentenced to jail.

This video was very good but difficult to watch at times. Both Bonnie and Kelly are clearly having a very hard time dealing with Katrina's disappearance. For their peace of mind I hope Katrina's situation is resolved soon.

From the Katrina's Army FB group posts and several of these interview videos it seems like Katrina's family has some information they cannot share with the public. This is understandable since it's an ongoing investigation by LE.
