Found Deceased Canada - Katrina Blagdon 37, picking up food w/ bf, St Catharines, ONT, 31 Dec 2021

I was completely surprised to hear "no foul play." Did she put herself in her duvet/sleeping bag and then roll herself into the water? I mean, it could happen but HIGHLY unlikely.

Agreed. The 'foul play' outcome seemed likely here, based on the information publicly available. Up until the LE mentioned this, the information seemed to be pointing in that direction. MOO

I'm curious to see if there are further updates from LE or MSM regarding Katrina's disappearance.

Did anyone here know that a sleeping bag and duvet were missing from Katrina's home before she was found? I don't recall references to those being missing during the investigation.

On the Facebook page they have mentioned that those items were found by searchers before she was found. I'm guessing that they were identified as being hers after being found and perhaps that is what lead to finding her body. All just guesses on my part.

The duvet and sleeping bag were snagged in 12 mile creek. There are some parts of that creek that are like rapids.
I'm sorry but until they give out any more info I don't believe the no foul play theory.

I'm really having a hard time with that myself. Hmmm...

The Niagara Regional Police have reported that "foul play is not suspected" in Katrina's disappearance.

BREAKING: Katrina Blagdon confirmed dead; police do not suspect foul play

Question: Do we know the approximate distance between Katrina's home and the location where she was found?

Please check my thinking on this...

We know that a blue sleeping bag and a white duvet belonging to Katrina were found in 12 Mile Creek, so those items likely went into the water upstream from that location.

*IF* the 'no foul play' scenario is correct, and *IF* Katrina's BF had no part in her disappearance, this would suggest that Katrina herself voluntarily left her home, late at night, in winter weather, carrying the sleeping bag and duvet with her. AFAIK, Katrina's green Jeep was found at home, along with the keys. If so, Katrina would either have had to walk to her destination, wherever that was, or get a ride to that location from someone (friend, ride service, etc.).

While this sequence of events is possible, based on what has been publicly released so far it doesn't seem likely to me.
Whether Katrina's PTSD issues could come into play here is unknown. All of the above is MOO.

According to this earlier MSM report regarding Katrina's phone, her sister stated that she believed foul play was involved in Katrina's disappearance:

Missing ex-soldier's phone tracked to Thorold – days after she disappeared

No news on this?

A quick search this morning revealed no additional information regarding Katrina. Most of the MSM reports are a week old and contain basically the same information.

Also, the 'Trina's Army" FB group has been changed from public access to private access in recent days.

Good to hear Katrina's family is still looking for answers in her case. I haven't seen any recent MSM reports containing new information, and the 'Trina's Army' FB group is now private, so I can't see any new posts there.

Last I heard, LE was still saying there was no foul play suspected regarding Katrina's death.

I haven't seen anything reported in MSM regarding Katrina's disappearance that night. All I've read is that Katrina and her sleeping bag and duvet were found in the water, but no mention of how or why she left her residence that night, or how she arrived in the 12 Mile Creek area. Her Jeep and the keys were both found at her home, so she didn't drive herself there.

KATRINA BLAGDON'S FAMILY SAYS CASE IS NOT CLOSED 'THE INJUSTICES AGAINST HER WILL BE PUT RIGHT'

"As you can imagine this is a bittersweet moment for us. We are finally able to rest after four months of searching, postering, being followed/harassed, moving from Air BnB to Air BnB, travelling from home to St. Catharines and simply trying to maintain our own obligations and responsibilities."

KB's family mentioned being followed and harassed during their searches. On the Newstalk 610 CKTB Facebook page (article linked above), there are some rather strange comments from certain individuals who seem to be pushing certain scenarios pretty aggressively. Very odd.

Since the FB comments were open to the public I was able to read them. There seems to be several general scenarios in Katrina's case from what I read: accidental death, suicide, or involvement by Katrina's BF. MOO

I haven't seen anything definitive other than the initial reports from Niagara Regional Police reporting that "foul play is not suspected" in Katrina's disappearance. How the NRP came to that conclusion hasn't been released AFAIK.

It was reported several times early in the MP case that Katrina had PTSD from her time in the military. How, or if, that may have been a factor here we don't know.

What we do know is:
- Her BF claims to have been sleeping when Katrina disappeared
- Her green Jeep and the keys were found at her home
- Her sleeping bag and duvet were missing from her home
- Her phone was missing from her home

AFAIK, her duvet and sleeping bag were not reported missing by MSM, LE, or family members during the initial phases of her disappearance. They were reportedly located in 12 Mile Creek a couple of days before Katrina herself was found.
