Search along expressway linked to missing person case

Windsor police have announced the investigation along E.C. Row Expressway is linked to the disappearance of Krystine Scott.

Police will not release any further details about the nature of the search. However, police are still investigating along the E.C. Row between Central Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard. They expect to finish for the day at 4 p.m.

There is still a $20,000 reward for information on Scott’s whereabouts. Investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them at 519-255-6700, ext. 4305.

Scott was reported missing in February 2022 after family members had not heard from her for several months.

Scott is described as a white woman who is 5’ tall and weighs approximately 90 lbs. She has long blonde hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo of a butterfly on her upper back. The style and colour of her hair may have changed since she was last seen in person.''

''Windsor police said Krystine Scott, 29, of Windsor, has been reported missing by concerned family and friends, who last interacted with her in late November 2021.''

According to police, Scott is known to have a “transient lifestyle” — but the length of time that she has been out of touch with anyone is “out of character for her.”

Scott is described as a petite white female — only five feet tall and about 90 pounds in weight, with a slender build.

She has blonde hair, brown eyes, and a tattoo of a butterfly on her upper back.

Police noted that the style and colour of Scott’s hair may be different than they appear in the distributed images of her, and may have changed since she was last encountered in person.

Police investigation on EC Row related to missing person case

A Windsor Police Services investigation on EC Row Expressway this week was related to the November 2021 disappearance of Krystine Scott.

''Windsor police officers including a canine unit spent Monday and Tuesday searching along the north side of EC Row Expressway between Central Avenue and Jefferson Boulevard.''

Staff Sgt. Ted Novak with the major crimes unit recently told the Star that police received some tips about Scott in February.

“We’re always looking but right now there is no indication of foul play,” he said last month. “Missing people, depending on the economy and what’s going on in their lives, they can go anywhere in the province and disappear in larger cities like Toronto and be totally anonymous. That’s the concern, they move to another area large enough that they can hide and they don’t stand out.”

Investigators wrapped up the search on EC Row Expressway Tuesday afternoon without confirming what led them there, or revealing if they found anything.''

''On Monday a police mobile command unit and officers from the OPP and CP Rail could be seen in the area.

“We are searching for evidence in connection to the disappearance of Krystine Scott, who was last seen in November 2021,” police said.''
