Thanks to all of you who posted "thanks". It's good to see there are some of us hanging in there. From time to time other heavy-duty matters demand my time and attention (just like everyone else), but I'll always be back. For me, Lachlan's story is far from finished...and I quit buying bilgewater a long time ago.

High tech. to low tech.,maybe they need to try that clumping cat litter,or the opposite of the invisibility cloak, to see where the cracks are leaking radiation ...

BATH SALTS

In their desperation, engineers at plant operator Tokyo Electric Power Co (TEPCO) have used anything to hand to try to stop the leaks.

At the weekend, they mixed sawdust and newspapers with polymers and cement in a so far unsuccessful attempt to seal the crack in a concrete pit at reactor no.2, where radioactive water has been flowing into the sea.

On Monday, they resorted to powdered bath salts to produce a milky colour to help trace the source of the leak.

You'd think they could just collect the leaking water and recirculate it until they figure out a permanent solution.

Of all the stars, I think Lachlan's shines brightest in this regard...

Sometimes it takes a rocket scientist… to take on Hollywood

By David Suzuki

This isn’t about overachieving stars. Rather, it’s a way of pointing out that science isn’t just for geeky nerds – and it isn’t just for guys. But it also says something about Western society’s obsession with celebrity and its lack of interest in science. We pay far more attention to these people for their movie roles and stardom than for their intellectual accomplishments.

Japan’s science ministry said small amounts of strontium, one of the most harmful and long-lasting radioactive elements, had been found in soil near Fukushima Daiichi.

Hidehiko Nishiyama, a deputy director-general of the Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (NISA), said the decision to raise the severity of the incident from level 5 to 7 — the same as the Chernobyl disaster in Ukraine in 1986 — was based on cumulative quantities of radiation released.

"...Prime Minister Stephen Harper's office asked the RCMP and two federal watchdogs to look into the actions of Carson, who officially left the government in 2009. But Carson continued, according to his own online biography, to do work for Prentice, former natural resources minister Lisa Raitt and current Natural Resources Minister Christian Paradis....."

Ref my #413 - about the good man. Here's the link to an interesting article about some of his early endeavors back in the 1970s.

Can anyone recall the source of the article telling that LC had discovered something entirely before unknown about the cellular activity of plants? Bugs me when I remember the important content but not the source so I can go back to it.
Betcha Lachlan knew this man.

A movement begun by Abe Petkau at Atomic Energy of Canada Limited (AECL), culminated in the early 1970’s, sought to bring together biophysicists within Canada into an association.

VIENNA - Austrian researchers are working on a project that could help predict the impact of potential accidents at nuclear power plants.

The project — called flexRISK — will be completed later this year and encompass 258 nuclear facilities in Europe and neighbouring regions. It consists of an online database where users can compare and contrast the potential impact of accidents under differing weather conditions

and i would like to add for anyone curious, i found out today from one Craigs fellow employees, that Craig had taken the company car to deep river to commit the murder; Therefore it was likely done tuesday morning just after he left for work, hence why the family had no idea how he even got there... they thought he was working.

how do you know that?

Femme clearly states in her post how she came by the information. As femme has not been verified as an insider by WS, we can choose whether we wish to rely on that information or not.

And what exactly is an "insider'? And also i wouldnt be relying on Femme's info at all. She has alot of her stories mixed up totally. I am one of the parents of Michelle Martel Cameron, thats how i know this.

TORONTO — Ontario Power Generation is seeking federal approval to build underground vaults near Kincardine to store low- and intermediate-level nuclear waste.

OPG submitted 12,500 pages of documents to support its claim that the Deep Geologic Repository "will not likely result in any significant adverse environmental or public health effects."
http://www.cp24.com/servlet/an/local/CTVNews/20110427/110427_nuclear_waste/20110427/?hub=CP24Home

The utility wants to build the nuclear storage facilities about one kilometre inland from Lake Huron near Kincardine.

"The NDP say that's too close to the drinking water source for millions of Americans and Canadians.

The underground vaults would be used to store everything from mops and used protective suits to irradiated core components from refurbished reactors at the Pickering, Darlington and Bruce stations."

Hi mlparnet,

My very sincere condolences to you and your family on the tremendous loss you have experienced. No parent should have to outlive their children, and I truly hope that justice will be done in Michelle's case. As a parent who has also lost children, I understand it will never bring "closure" to you, but it is one of the only things that can ever help ease the pain ... that, and beautiful memories of times you have spent with your daughter. I am truly sorry.

An "insider" is someone who claims to have inside information on a case, and it is WS policy that they be verified by Trisha Griffiths who is the owner of this board. That way, when someone provides specifics related to the case that could only come from someone close to it, Trisha verifies who they claim to be by making personal contact and doing a bit of checking on the information provided.

FWIW, I can't locate femme's post(s), so it would seem they have been removed by either a mod or admin.

Sillybilly,
Thank you very much. You say you have lost "children". So you have lost more then one? That must be total hell. I am having a really hard time trying to get my head straight with just losing ONE child, i couldnt imagine losing more. As for Femme Fatales posts, i don't know who she is or where she is getting here info but she must be close to the defendants side, as she knew the family by first names that most people wouldn't know them by. And she also added in on a little bit of info that not too many people knew about also. But what really pissed me off about her is that she named the children. And IMO that is a no-no period. Those poor kids are going to have to grow up with our kids talking to them about what happened as it is. Secondly, i don't see a need to go onto a website and just start stating things that shouldn't be posted at all. The trial hasn't even came close to starting and thats one thing i am going to have a realllllllly hard time dealing with. I don't think i can even look at the man that did this, let alone be in the same room as him. Thank you all for your condolences, we need all the comfort we can get at this time.
