Regarding the incinerator and the reason for it's purchase - LB went missing at the end of June/beginning of July. The incinerator was purchased sometime in July. Doesn't it seem odd that someone would kill a person and just hold on to their body while they wait for an incinerator to be delivered from out of Province?

Well, no, not if LB was unplanned. If I could safely store a body for a while, order an incinerator and then load it in and get rid of the evidence, ordering an incinerator immediately might actually be a priority.

I think it sounds quite possible someone would get an incinerator after the fact. We hear about bodies being found all over the place - lakes, rivers, dumpsters, suitcases ... It's apparently not that easy to get rid of a body.

Maybe it's just me, but here it what I see as unfair to LB and many, many other women.

TB, a fairly well to do, hard working man, goes for a test drive in his vehicle that he has for sale and doesn't return. Within hours LE are on the case. Rightly so, imo btw.

LB on the other hand is missing for the better part of a year, no on-line footprint as she previously had, no contact with family or friends like she previously had, and LE ignores that she cannot be found. LE doesn't find anything odd - TPS to be exact. Banking records? Social Insurance Number registered at a new employer? Was any of this looked into after LB was missing for a month, 3 months etc?

I hope LB is safe and hiding from her previous life for her own good reasons. I hope she went underground to keep herself safe if that was necessary. I hope TPS have known all along where she is and kept her secret because she wants them to.

I also hope DM is not another Williams - initially sheltered and considered above reproach by LE due to his standing in career and community.

LE wouldn't do that Woodland ... they would advise family she has been located, is safe, but doesn't wish contact. At least that's the way it's supposed to be.

But he had a whole empty property on which to bury that body.... which, unfortunately, may be what happened since the police are back out there. I just think I'd want to get rid of it right away before the neighbors showed up and started taking pictures.

I do hear what you're saying. But TB's situation was also completely different than LB's. Perhaps if there was more push from the family in the months after LB's disappearance, more follow-up, things may have been different. I have no way of knowing how often they followed up with the police to say "look, she still hasn't used her debit card, no ones been able to reach her by phone, she hasn't been online". Sometimes in those situations, it may take a little more convincing to get the attention.

Sorry, I don't really have a theory. I go back and forth. My mind has a very hard time accepting that people, seemingly normal, everyday people, can do things like this for no apparent reason other than, what? A sick thrill? Just because they felt like it at the time? My mind fights that image and I search for a more logical reason. Maybe that's also part of the reason I generally question a lot and don't usually automatically assume guilt when an arrest is made. I wait for more information to come out and hope for a better explanation.

Saddened and sickened that this young ladies disappearance wasn't a big deal back in the day! How does someone just drop off the face of the earth and only 1 person notice or become alarmed. How scary and sad! I hope she IS in Vegas working, although I find it hard to believe that someone gives up every single person they have ever known..but again, who knows the state of mind. So frustrated!

As a parent I can't help but think the same thing. Regardless of if my child was on drugs or involved in errant behavior I would be a squeaky wheel with LE and would hire a PI if I wasn't getting anywhere. It seems that relying on grassroots and social media may not be enough to bring this girl home. Prayers for her family.

From my understanding Laura mother was not concerned at the time she dropped the dog off and left.

So, what info did the TPS have to work with, when they visit the parents and the parents more or less tell TPS.. They have no concerns? The parents were not even concerned enough to give the phone bill.
Why would TPS invterview DM, in infact her parents weren't concerned??
Obviously, there must be way more information that is being withheld from the public on this case, but, like I said, from the mothers interview, there was no cause for concern.
The lack of concern is troubling. The first time that LBs name popped up linked to DM I thought "I've never even heard about this missing person"...the more that I heard about her disappearance it reminded me of Michele Knight, the Cleveland Kidnapping Victim who had been held against her will for so many years without anyone looking for her...the assumption was that she had left on her own. Sad and tragic.

Seriously, every family and group of friends of a missing person has never had anything like this happen before. I think in my entire life I have heard of only one case where 2 separate family members have disappeared. I haven't seen such inaction ever. They have now postponed the vigil. Has anyone other than SL ever put up a poster? At what point do you stop pretending your daughter has run away, and worry that she is missing? When she stops using her cell phone? When she misses her birthday, Christmas, Mother's Day, her grandmothers funeral? There were over 700 people in that FB group before we all heard of her because of DM, and she hasn't contacted a single friend. If anything is ever found out about her, it will be because, and only because of SL, and he deserves a medal

Hat is off to SL, absolutely agree!!!!!

Anyone should be able to report a missing person. SL's worries should never have been left without a followup. After all, it certainly was a suspicious disappearance. Many times the missing person is missing because of the misadventure at home, not that this is the case with LB, of course, but the TP should have checked out the report and shouldn't have let the family brush them off.

This sounds good, but they don't have unlimited time/manpower/money and have to prioritize.

This is a bit of a problem. You can email or leave a message on a tip line but obviously, neither are "anonymous" and both are easily traced. He was most definitely courageous as he could have easily been deemed a suspect!

Crimestoppers in Canada is 100% anonymous. They do not trace you and will not.

How do you know this? The technology to trace both computer and telephone activity exists for non-LE; what makes you think that LE doesn't have the very same (if not more sophisticated) technology?

Curious.

Do you live in Canada?

Crimestoppers guarantees it.....Crimestoppers are not LE.

Well I definitely would not use a burner phone! But ppl do have the right to be skeptical with all these random scandals that happen in all walks of life, professions, charities, LE, judicial systems, churches, organized sports, hackers, I can go on & on....If I made a cal it woud not be with my landline or cell phone and I would make it from a phone booth (if I could find one :)) with no cameras around....or just use a carrier pigeon haha
