Here is the link for the press conference and the Q&A after. If you watch the Q&A one, he confirms that she had contact with someone else after the phone call to DM at the very end of the video. I haven't re-watched the presser yet, but I believe he mentioned it there as well. He just wouldn't confirm how that contact was made - whether through IM, BBM, e-mail, or whatever. I will listen again and could be mistaken, but I believe he also said that he was not going to say who that contact was with, but would prefer that person come forward on their own.

Carbone said Babcock began working in the sex trade, advertising as an escort on the Internet. He said there is no evidence Millard was a client.

According to Babcock’s phone records, she and Millard exchanged a series of calls that ended July 3, 2012, Carbone said. He added she is believed to have had some kind of contact with other people after that time, but he would not elaborate.

Many judges in many courtrooms in Toronto are throwing TPS officers and their cases out for perjury.

Have never heard anyone explain the relevance of a missing persons lifestyle and the fact that they are missing. Or why TPS won't look for a missing person due to their lifestyle. Can you offer any insight?

I have to agree. The copy isn't very clear, but there were also 5 calls made to another number on the previous 2 days showing on that bill.

TPS is insinuating SL is 'mistaken' about the last call from LB's phone by talking about previous calls to others. They have muddied the memory for the public - I don't believe TPS.

A month later, Ms. Babcock moved out of her parents’ house. She was going through some drug and mental-health issues, Mr. Lerner said.

It was around that time she began hanging around Mr. Millard. (so Feb)The three went to a performance at Medieval Times in Toronto and later retired to Mr. Millard’s condo.

They went to Medieval Times after January 2012??? It was previously reported that the picture at Medieval Times was a couple of years ago so I assumed it was sometime in 2011.

Thanks. I listened to Parts 1 and 2 twice. He did say a couple of times that he wouldn't ID the other contacts, and asked them to come forward. What I didn't hear was that LB had contact with anyone AFTER the phone call to DM. There is a section near the end that I couldn't make out clearly. I'll give it another go.

Since The ex had the phone bill first, I am sure he sleuthed out the numbers that she called and who called her.. And his only concern was DM.

I'm glad to see some of the same outrage here that I feel with TPS 'investigating' LB's disappearance.

My biggest outrage is towards Carbone prefacing what passes for a TPS press conference with 'LB was involved in the sex trade.' Who cares? What does that mean regarding LB's disappearance? If TPS finds it necessary to announce a missing persons lifestyle then show the relevance - or stay quiet.

Utter nonsense, imo.

Have never posted this term before but feel the need now - WTF? Who are you guys? - I notice there are rarely any female TPS officers involved where it would be helpful and make a positive difference.

It's the same attitude, imo, that Vancouver Police and the RCMP had before 'discovering' Picton was kidnapping and murdering many, many woman from Vancouver. I'm not saying DM is the same caliber as Picton, but TPS learned nothing from that experience including an expensive inquiry. What a waste. Who decides when LE looks for a missing person and when they don't? I would like to see that in writing - not hear it from TPS.

My only consolation was how uncomfortable Carbone was - tripping over and repeating his words. Imo, he felt the pressure to be 'taking one for the team.'

And - TPS taking credit for any info in today's presser is shameful - we have heard or discovered everything here already - without TPS involvement. The search by TPS at DM's farm is just as I expected it would be - a sham to look like they were 'on it.' They had no leads, no info to search and wasted taxpayers money to put on a show for the public. Some will buy it, some won't.

After watching this presser I have the following comments:

-IMO this was an absolutely disgraceful performance by Toronto Police. For detective Carbone to come out and describe the investigation as "thorough" is an insult to Laura's family and friends and an insult to our intelligence.

-I believe Laura's boyfriend and her family when they say that the phone records were turned over to Police at the time of Laura's disappearance. For Det Carbone to now come out and say that police "only became aware" of the phone records after the arrest of Dellen Millard is almost certainly an outright lie by Det Carbone IMO. This is typical of how Toronto Police operate. They will NEVER admit to making any mistakes. IMO they will with hesitation lie in order to cover their rear-ends.

-We saw today with Det Carbones performance why it is so many murders go unsolved in Toronto. With the exception of the murder of drug dealers - the investigation of which solve themselves - Toronto Homicide have a lousy track record of solving murders or disappearances (e.g. Mariam Makhniashvili ).

- Most shocking was the fact that Det Carbone was completely unaware of the infamous soft- photo shoots that DM arranged inside the Millard hangar. This information has been in the public domain for weeks now. Everyone on this website knows about the photo shoots and yet the lead investigator into LB's disappearance was completely dumbstruck when asked about these photo's? With his response Det Carbone demonstrated that he is completely unfit for the job of a police inspector. Unfortunately cops can never be fired . I suspect this guy will probably get a big promotion.

-Det Carbone was unable to comment on or was unsure about most of the facts of this case but he was certain of two thing. 1) Dellen Millard "was not in the sex trade" (despite evidence to the contrary, e.g. soft- photo-shoot) AND 2) Carbone was sure that Laura's was in the "sex trade" although no evidence of this has been presented and it is yet to be proven.


- It does not seem that Det Carbone was asked about the i-Pad in Laura's possession. After her disappearance her boyfriend asked Toronto Police to obtain a subpoena to allow Rogers to track the usage and location of the i-Pad. Toronto Police did not comply with this request! What is the explanation from Det Carbone for this massive failure to follow-up on a critical lead?

- It was hard to make out the questions from the media but at one point Det Carbone was asked about WM's personal life at the time of his death. Carbone replied it was "too early to speculate on his demeanor this soon into the investigation". Too early? WM died 8 months ago! From this comment we can infer that at the time of WM's death no investigation was done into it being a possible murder.

I don't see what the big deal is, LB was a missing person, she still is a missing person. At the time she disappeared, there was no signs of any wrongdoing on anyone, taking a missing persons report is about as much as a LE agency will do when the TPS having missing person reported everyday.

Now, here is a very important clue to what this press conference was about, LE want to speak to who was on the those phone records, and announcing that she was "sex trade worker" makes it clear to those on the records, that LE knows what is going on. TPS also made it clear that they want those on the records to come forward.

There was nothing wrong with what they did and I do not see a case of CYA by TPS.

Has any thought about the TPS stating they found no evediance on DM farn...hard to find IMO burned remains with a back hoe. No forensics done here.
Not sure on the boundary lines of DM farm the red roof is sporting a seventy five thousand dollar solar system. I did read a post with someone saying there was a evidence marker on the box IMO looks like hydro. Could it have been a grow op?
