Ok Thanks. It just seems like this is becoming a huge campaign as many of us thought it would. I feel this is wrong on a few levels but that's just me as I look as it as a woman was murdered I don't put her race as the reason why. So I thought perhaps I had missed something beyond the obvious.

We know that Loretta was researching three aboriginal women, two of whom were activists. One was murdered in the US in 1975 and I believe her murderer, also aboriginal, was from NS. Another was murdered by her son when he was under the influence of drugs. This is aboriginal men murdering aboriginal women. That is entirely different than two transients murdering a university student.

I would agree, like yourself. I looked at some statscan data ( I posted it in a previous link). According to the data from the government website aboriginal men are equally if not more over represented as homicide victims and well over twice at risk than their non aboriginal counterparts. Furthermore aboriginal men in a spousal relationship where there has been a homicide are 5 times more likely to be the victim compared to non aboriginal male spouses. I don't have the stats on what percentage of aboriginal men where they marry aboriginals themselves. ( are aboriginal women more violent or are they taught this ?)

In the midst of all the other discussions, I felt a need to take a moment to remember the victim in all of this, and her unborn child; and maybe to consider what she wanted her life to stand for.

Two lives taken. Two lives discarded in a ditch.

Yes, she was pregnant. There are differing reports as to how far along she was, but maybe three months.

It is reported that she was looking forward to becoming a mother. She was with her boyfriend of approximately 3 years.

Yes that's my point, two entirely different things.
However you could see this coming from early on when she was missing. Especially after her advisor's post about her thesis proposal that we all discussed. I understand WHY they are doing this but I have to say it is unsettling to me. I feel like I am watching something " staged" unroll as if her death was the " cause" needed. It became a "movement" from minute one . I don't think anyone else had anything to do with her death, but some of the propaganda machines wasted no time creating an issue from it. It became an us against them and that didn't / doesn't sit well with me .

Sorry if this isn't coming across right, I am having trouble explaining why this whole media blitz on the race aspect of this bothers me. It's like its all a big plan coming together and while I get it, I still feel Loretta is/ will be lost in the mix somehow. I cant explain this properly here. I feel she is being used I guess is the simplest explanation.

Loretta was researching aboriginal women murdered by aboriginal men. It becomes confusing when this case is held up as an example of her research interests because in this case we have what appears to be non-aboriginal couple murdering their aboriginal room mate. This now takes on the appearance that Loretta's research was about aboriginal women being targeted by non-aboriginals, and that simply is not the case, nor is it a reality. I think that all Canadians must be offended by the implication that murderers prefer aboriginals and that Canadians don't care about this.

This is my opinion only but from what I have read the family wants to finish Loretta's work on her thesis. They are interested in the lending Loretta's name to this cause.
I agree that Loretta was killed by 2 people with a misguided sense of entitlement and not specifically because she identified her self as being indigenous. It is a cause they believe in.

I read that her family wants to take her research paper proposal home with them so that they can continue her work.

I heard that on the news as well.

We drove past the building today heading to costco and started getting tears in the eyes. There was a remembrances/memorial reef with her picture in the middle of it.

Thanks, Pondering! On October 14, 2009, she seems to have left her night-shift job in Moncton, for a weekend in Petawawa--never returning to her responsibilities in Moncton. LOL No surprise, there.

On October 16, 2009, Victoria posts that she may be westward bound.

So, now in Jan., 2010 we have her possibly in Nova Scotia with maybe a new fella.

Leggette begins to turn up in the latter part of 2010/early 2011. How interesting, because we have nothing to really confirm where she was living when she met him.

She was definitely in Halifax, NS, in Jan., 2011, because she had charges laid against her; then we have her in St. John's, Newfoundland in August, 2011.

Victorias ex boyfriend (Andrew) stated today that while he and Vicki were living together, that Blake was a "bum" and living in a tent at paper mill lake, in Bedford.

Andrew also states he met Vicki while working for BBM
Also that Vickis mother (birth mom Henneberry) passed away late 2010-2011 n Ontario.

Apparently VH went by Galbraith until her mother passed away, and then she used Henneberry, her birth mothers name.
I did see a post on VH wall Dec 23 2010, all it states is RIP.

Maybe they met during the Occupy Canada movement, when all sorts of people set up tents in city centres to protest a lack of work and housing.

We don't know anything about Blake yet, but we are able to piece together something of a personality profile of Victoria based on her social media image/comments, her transient lifestyle, her terrible comments about Loretta that were covered on CBC news (link at end of last thread), her claims about accomplishments (work/study) that cannot be true, and where she is today.

Regarding Blake's complete absence on social media, there are a few possibilities: he knew what was coming and deleted it all, someone (family?) deleted it for him, he doesn't know how to use computers and social media (doubtful), he has no interest in social media, he's using an identity that is impossible to find. The fact that there doesn't seem to be an electronic footprint for him might tell us that he's a very private person - perhaps a complete loner.
