There is very little information about her... I think she ran away from home and that the altercation was over a possible pregnancy or a boyfriend that the family didn't want her to have... she must still be alive with someone somewhere in the United States. .. I hope he is happy and that he does not have a guilty conscience for not letting his family know that he is fine...
whatever she is
rest in peace

I'm Lori's cousin. When she left we called the police they wouldnt help because she was over 18 and left on her own. My aunt was dying said could you pls find her before I go. I called the police they said nothing they can do call back after my aunt died. Soooo I called back, they said why are you calling now you should have called when she was alive. I tried and tried to get the police to take a missing persons report and they wouldnt. I said what if shes dead? They said well we would find her then, i said how many missing people are there that u have never found thier body?My dad finally got them to take one i think it was 20 yrs after she went missing. It was so aggrivating not to get help from anyone. We talked to her ex boyfriend yrs ago and his new wife he had no idea where she was. Its harder now because a lot of our family members have passed. My dad wrote down every contact he had with the wpg police. Unfortunately he passed in 2017 and in 2019 his house burned down and we couldnt save a thing, My mom is living in our grandparents house, and i live in a house that lori knows so if she wanted to find us she could. When she went missing in the 1980's as soon as the police heard that she was indigenous they automatically never cared. Loris sister has given her dna. Salvation army had a program to find missing persons, they had to get permission to get loris, social insurance number, they wrote a letter to the address on file and it was sent back. Some people were very nice and helped as long as i didnt say who did it. So one person i called looked up her health number and it was never used. If she got married she would have a different health number now.

Missing Lori Lee Berens FB page

<<Websleuths posted that Lori may be the Jane Doe known as Lori Erica Ruff who committed suicide in 2010 under a stolen identity. However, Ruff's true identity was uncovered in 2016 and she was found to be someone else.>>

Description: Sources disagree on Lori's description. NAMPN states that Lori was 5'6 and 150 pounds at the time of her disappearance. The Doe Network says Lori was 6'0 and 225 pounds

Tribal Information: Lori is described as Native but specific tribal information is unavailable

I am so sorry to hear the police didn't do their job and take Lori's disappearance seriously. It seems like there are so many missing Natives whose families have been treated the same way. It's terrible and very unfair!

According to Doe Network, it is unknown if there is DNA for comparisons. Has anyone in your family been able to provide DNA?
