Peel police seek two hikers who may be witnesses in missing person investigation

"Peel Regional Police are searching for two women who may have found car keys belonging to a missing woman in Hamilton.

In a news release issued Sunday, police said that the two women—who investigators say are in their 20s and were wearing sports clothing—are considered key witnesses in their missing persons investigation.

According to investigators, on Aug. 15 the women allegedly found a set of car keys belonging to Lovleen Dhawan—who was last seen around 1 p.m. on August 14 in the area of McLaughlin Road South and Steeles Avenue in Brampton—while they were hiking in Webster Falls near the village of Dundas.

Police said they believe the women gave the keys to another group of people before leaving the area around 4 p.m.

Dhawan’s vehicle, a bronze-coloured Hyundai Elantra, was found in the Webster Falls parking lot"

UPDATE: New Information Revealed as Police Search for Missing Brampton Woman
"Lovleen Dhawan, 27, was last seen around 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 in the area of McLaughlin Road South and Steeles Avenue West.

Dhawan is described as a South Asian woman with a thin build, 5'7', 125 pounds, with shoulder length straight black hair. She was wearing blue jeans, a black and pink hooded sweater, and black shoes."

Region of Peel – Investigators from the 22 Division Criminal Investigation Bureau are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a missing 27-year-old woman from Brampton.

Lovleen Dhawan was last seen on Wednesday August 14, 2019 at approximately 9:30 a.m., in the area of McLaughlin Road South and Steeles Avenue West in the City of Brampton.

It is believed Lovleen Dhawan attended Tews Falls/Dundas Peak, Hamilton on Thursday August 15, 2019.

Police have information that two female late teen/young adult hikers had found Lovleen Dhawan’s keys somewhere within the conservation area. These keys were later passed on to another group of hikers and subsequently recovered by police.

Police would like to speak with these original two young female hikers to determine the location where these keys were originally found by them. Knowing the location of where these keys were originally found, could greatly assist police.

Police are also asking that anyone who attended the Tews Falls/Dundas Peak on Thursday August 15, 2019 contact police. Police are interested in any photos that where taken at Tews Falls/Dundas Peak/Webster Falls on August 15, 2019.

Lovleen Dhawan is described as female, South Asian, thin build, 5’7’’, 125 pounds, with shoulder length straight black hair.

so someone probably attacked her on the trail, then what? kill her and leave her body somewhere there covered by brush? I think abducting her is not likely because they would have to get her off the trail to the parking lot and she'd be screaming and there'd be witnesses or did they take her from the parking lot and then return to dispose/plant the keys ... nope don't think so

or was she never there? and someone just planted the vehicle & keys?

'Investigation is still ongoing'; No updates one year later in search for missing Brampton woman

More than a year after Brampton’s Lovleen Dhawan was reported missing, Peel Police say "the investigation is still ongoing" but there are no updates on the case.

...the case was originally with the police service’s Criminal Investigations Bureau, but as is the department’s practice with longer-term missing persons cases, it has now been taken over by the Homicide and Missing Persons Bureau. The case is considered a missing persons investigation.

Missing Lovleen Dhawan

Help us to find Missing 27-year-old Lovleen.
The current investigation has concluded that Lovleen is believed to be in the Hamilton area, possibly near Webster Falls near the village of Dundas. As per the information, two female hikers found a set of car keys belonging to Lovleen’s bronze coloured Hyundai Elantra which was located in the Webster Falls parking lot. The hikers are believed to have given the keys to another group of people before leaving the area. Police are requesting the hikers that found the car keys to please contact our investigators, as they would be greatly assisting our investigation. The two hikers are described as females in their 20’s, wearing sports clothing.
