That's what I thought when I first heard the story yesterday but kept forgetting to mention it. Why didn't they take a quick photo?
I think it probably happened really fast, and it took them a while to put two and two together.

Please re read my post. If they are innocent, they should turn themselves in. They're just making us situation worse.

Just like OJ did.

This is exactly where I think this all started. An accident. JMO
Not sure how hitting a person would put a huge dent in the roof of the truck where the camper would have been jmo

They might not even be aware of the couples murders and think they’re being hunted for the hit and run on the prof. Why second degree? They could easily find paint chips, glass fragment or tire prints on him to tie the suspects to his death. This makes more sense to me then just randomly murdering a couple 4 hours away.Hey... who knows how the mind of a criminal really works though...

What does toss my lot mean?
basically just means I am about ready to go along with the thought that they are dead, to align myself with those who think they are deceased.

"toss my lot in with" means "join."

join them....
I thought it meant like toss ones cookies! - meaning in disbelief or disagreement - the idea making you sick.

So, it is possible that:

1. They may have jacked another vehicle before they burned the Rav4, and before they headed to Gillam. They got a ride back to Shell Lake from a friendly stranger, and are long gone in another vehicle, all before anyone noticed.

2. They may be getting help on this journey, and are still in the area.

3. They are wily survivors with ninja-like mystical powers to vanish in thin air.

4. None of the above. They are deceased.

No concensus required.

I like #1 or #4!
The thing that distracts me from #1 is the extremely heavy police presence in N Manitoba. I find it difficult to fathom that the RCMP would be spending so much time and money to focus on that area. There has to be something they are not sharing with the public to keep all resources in one place for so long. JMO

I haven't been picturing an over-cab camper. I've been picturing the type that only covers the bed. I think there were pictures. Anyone know where to find pictures?

Boy, that was fast! Thanks Minn!

Here’s a brief video clip in which Travis Bighetty describes the sighting that he and his partner made at the dump: https://www.cbc.ca/player/play/1577949251549

This sounds a lot shakier than how it was described to the media by Bear Clan head James Flavel.

I think it probably happened really fast, and it took them a while to put two and two together.

The very first report was that the witness saw two people "scuffling" around at the dump. He wasn't sure what he was seeing. He checked the suspect's description and confirmed the description matched the people scavenging at the dump.

The suspects apparently were unconcerned about the witness and his vehicle, and after the witness confirmed their identities, they ran into the trees. That's hard to believe. The suspects would have been watching for vehicles in the distance and disappeared before anyone could get close enough to confirm that they were the suspects.

Neither one alone would do what they both did together. Are they more than just friends? moo

They are, obviously , a deeply committed partnership, of a particular and peculiar bonding mechanism . So far, assuming they are both alive, assuming they are healthily plodding on, eyes on the end game, ( lots of assumption there ) it appears to be an unbreakable partnership. Not known is who is leader, who is follower, and it may be that those roles are interchangeable depending on the circumstances. Some partnerships work like that.

Is it one of love ? it certainly isn't one of hate, neither would have survived getting as far as Whitehorse. Perhaps a lot of their attachment to each other rests on the revenge and rejection of their home life, and home town, and just how far that can carry them is a moot point, because now, they are actually hated and hunted right across three provinces, nothing to do with the jerks at school, or an uncompromising parent, drearily telling them off, and stopping them from their fun.

Just who killed whom, is , so far, an enduring mystery, but that would expose just who is in charge of this duo and who isn't. I think they both killed. But one did an extra kill.

Good analysis, Trooper. Profound insight.
