''New photos are now available to the public as police in London, Ont., continue to investigate the murder of Lynda Marques.

The 30-year-old was fatally shot as she arrived at her north London home on Wateroak Drive on the evening of Sept. 10, 2021, according to police.

Investigators believe the suspects later fled the scene in a black Volkswagen Jetta. On Sept. 15, 2021, the suspect vehicle was found abandoned on Meadowlily Road South near Commissioners Road East

Police later determined the Jetta had been stolen from Bluffers Park and Beach in Scarborough on Sept. 5, 2021, according to police.

Police say the vehicle has undergone “extensive forensic examination, and analysis of evidence gathered is ongoing.”

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say the murder was either payback or a warning having to do with him and his drugs. JMO.

I agree, LadyL. There's also the hard possibility the partner is more directly involved (as in an arranged/for hire crime). I'm not saying that's likely -- only that, generally speaking, a husband is often a first person of interest. (If he's innocent, he faces double hardship: the loss of his wife and suspicion regarding his involvement or responsibility). This is sad all around. I hope their baby is safe with family or friends.

''Investigators have previously said that three suspects arrived at the home in a stolen vehicle minutes before the homicide. Two of the suspects then got out and opened fire on Marques while she was still seated in her vehicle.

Last week police announced the arrest of 18-year-old Ammar Patel in connection with the shooting.

The other suspects, however, had remained outstanding.

In a news release issued on Thursday, London police confirmed that they have now taken a second suspect from the GTA into custody in connection with the case.

That suspect, identified as 23-year-old Osman Ali Afandy, was arrested in Regina on Wednesday.

Police allege Afandy was driving in a grey Ford Fusion on the day Marques was killed, and say he was observed travelling with the suspect black Volkswagen Jetta that appeared in surveillance camera images released by police.

Investigators said at the time that two masked suspects exited the Jetta, each firing shots into Marques' vehicle, ...

Investigators say they identified the second suspect vehicle, a grey Ford Fusion, after examining "significant volumes of surveillance video footage," and say the car has since been located and has "undergone extensive forensic analysis." Police believe Afandy was behind the wheel of that sedan.

Article about the plea. it appears they still haven’t found the two actual gunmen. Kind of surprised they agreed to plea deals for both of the men arrested without more information from them on the gunmen.
