Found Deceased Canada - Mariam Makhniashvili, 17, Toronto, 14 Sept 2009 - #8

Did anyone read what used to match Mariam's DNA was it bone, hair etc.? I had at first heard Det. Nealon say it would take several weeks since the person was deceased - that it took longer than with a living subject - but it seems the results came back in about a week, just over a week unless I am mistaken. I know the sample was matched to the father. The DNA is the crucial thing of course - yes there were her clothes but obviously the kidnappers could have her clothes. Also I am interested to know (in any case) how large a sample of tissue or (whatever) is used for the purposes of identification. Also:
1. should the police not ask if any motorists remember anyone walking along the 401 in September 2009? Almost anyone would tell this story to someone at work even if they did not intervene.
2. could the police not ask people who attended the Dragon Boat Races the day before Mariam disappeared to send in their photos. Unless I am mistaken we have no photos of her or her brother - I have looked through the photos that are online - can't see them. Although I am a strong believer in the integrity of her family I would still like to see some evidence, TTC photos anything, of them after the Union station video that was distributed. To see them but of course also anyone else in any of the pictures - someone might see something identify someone of interest. There would be specific people I would be looking for for instance.

To answer your question on DNA matching Chorley8 - teeth are a good source of DNA in skeletal remains if hair roots are not available. Failing that, drilling for bone marrow could be done as well.

A microscopic sample is sufficient with the current PCR-STR DNA tests - STR stands for short tandem repeats - the microscopic sample can be copied with absolute exactness over and over again to produce enough DNA for any current and future testing required.

If possible it would be great if Outcast to iterate her present info and position on:

1. the route to school I am now taking Vesta as correct is it?
2. your information about the strange timing of the police searching the trail and being at the school on September 14th could be absolutely vital. I know you were constantly having to repeat yourself but if you could one more time at least on this issue. I seems to me these times are very odd indeed.

I apologize to everyone for joining this discussion so late. I have been reading backposts so many of them so excellent and passionate now assidously and there are a few things I would like to bring forward. I am interested in the discussion about 120 and the link to California. But here a separate query for Dotr: was it you who said that there was a report of Mariam being beld at 120 Redpath? Do you know anything about this or what the source of this was? A tip? Redpath runs north south near 120 Eglinton I am not sure there is a 120 address there I am going to check. I spoke to a taxi driver today who said taxi drivers talked about Mariam and he and other drives know that it is absurd that she jumped from the bridge he said forget about that it didn't happen that police are trying to shut down the case. It is chilling that we are being told to believe this - that either we are being asked not to think or are being asked to think that they cannot think. It is chilling that national media so quickly played out the teen suicide in Canada story so "meticulously" to quote one close observer - the speedy revamp of the W5 show, the shutting down of responses from the public. How come? There is hope that the Coroner will step up to the plate when the report comes down.

I sort of remember that post concerning Redpath, but would have only been replying to another post about that rumour. I joined thread after other posters already proposed the interesting ideas.

I see now that at least on one blog post this person also offers some less rational more intuitive 'visions' of Mariam which I was not referring to (but it is this person's blog and I don't blame them). But o/w it is interesting because she drove around with her husband to the sites. Her theory involves Mariam meeting a young man which I of course admit is possible why not but is not my first guess she also says it is certain the bag went from Roehampton first then to 120 Eglinton and she thinks Mariam was "there" and willingly at the Roehampton building.

But it is the cold water she casts on the suicide theory that made me link it here I think she is certainly correct and she argues it well.

To a couple of "professionals" (they are academics) I have asked for help with this angle of mine that the kidnappers are communicating with themselves in ways they think are invisible to the public and police here are some more films. Also I think there was a problem with the March for Mariam in 2009 if my vague way of speaking makes sense.

What strikes me about this whole thing is the desire of the kidnappers to taunt and mock the family and the public - for some reason they think they are above the law for example words and clues like "do you know where your daughter is?" "Surrogate" "All's Well that Ends Well" "420" (drugs) and "sex" across a young woman's stomach in lingerie that looks like Mariam, sleepless and worn on a building near 120 Eg. Lots of signs and symbols of imprisonment, captivity. Possible puns and near puns on her name I now see the mouse in the graffiti I mentioned earlier is really a man in a mouse mask he has an M written on his ear. 20 Shallmar and 120 Eg/Roehampton/Redpath are important addresses part A and B of the plot the second more criminal organized and international. How they got Mariam remains a puzzle but the fact is they did. I don't think this case is necessarily going to be tough to solve the perpetrators want it solved.

The Daily Mail in the U.K. reports that he was a former supporter of white supremacist groups whatever former means. And Yonge and Eglinton again, strange. There are only so many active open white supremacists in Canada so there could in fact be a link even if not direct.

Back to Mariam: I have a question about the relationship between the Canadian government and Canadian media. I think there was clear evidence of a plan, presumably from fairly high up and they would have had to be ready to try to convert Mariam's murder into a national story about teen suicide the spearhead of this being the quickly revamped W5 show bringing in a media star very good at emotionalising, Sandi Rinaldo, and then what in my opinion was the very crude introduction of the expert on teen suicide who knowing so little about Mariam or how she died said that her story "fit" the pattern of teen suicide in Canada. It was outrageous, cold and heartless however it was intended.

Another example was when they quote Mariam's principal as saying she still has doubts about the official story and they put this down to her grief and pain etc. I think she meant what she said. I didn't really get the negative perception of the principal P.A. others on WS did and I would love to know what she thinks.

It is also why I would love to have confirmed the times 1. when Vakhtang told police Mariam was missing 2. when Outcast at WS saw officers on the path behind Forest Hill Collegiate and Mariam's home.

I feel absolutely sick here an article (the link is above please read it even if you are sick of hearing about this maniac) some time ago warned that Luka Magnotta was getting involved with dangerous people these are the SAME PEOPLE that "Robert Fridman" drew attention to as having strange business relations with 120 Eglinton East where Mariam's backpack was found. And as Dotr pointed out Magnotta lived on Erskine in the area.

Now I am wondering if it is safe to post on any of this.

How would the Toronto Police not know any of this I tracked it down in my first few hours of looking at this case in April and then realized recently that others LONG before had pointed out the on-line info about the address I think my only addition was to note that the name Robert Fridman was the same as Langer used in contracting Mariam's relatives. Given the gravity of this I am now wondering if the police were not frightened or threatened who would blame them? Was it blindness, incompetence, corruption (I doubt any of these). I am left with fear I mean that they were afraid.

Why did they say that there was NOTHING on the backpack that is not possible there would be DNA and fingerprints from many unknowns who moved it. Fear. Or something else what am I missing?

This article is in the form of a friend of Luka's looking for Luka in Igushetia which borders Georgia he claims Luka speaks Russian that one of his parents is Russian, that he is involved in local crime and has gone on drug runs to Mongolia and China this last point seems a bit unlikely that's a big trip.

On the other hand not many people in Canada would fabricate a life in Igushetia.

He does need to be considered by detectives in Mariam's death hopefully he will be ruled out!

If it is after Outcast saw police on the path behind Mariam's home and at this moment that does appear to the be case that would be very very interesting.
