GUILTY Canada - Noelle Paquette, 27, Sarnia, Ont, 31 Dec 2012 - #4

Wonder if their sick, twisted loyalty will change near Trial. Pointing fingers as to who actually committed the murder. Not that it will matter when the Jurors get the case and follow Instructions. As I said going to be a tough one.

Was in London yesterday for a Conference. Drove by the Courthouse where the Stafford Trial was held and I attended. In conversation I have another "recruit" who will attend Noelle's Trial with me. I pray there are not too many delays for her Family's sake :please:

Has it been determined that the trial will be held in London? I can't imagine it will be held in Sarnia....that would be too upsetting for the citizens there.

My office is only a few blocks from the London courthouse, however I'm not sure I could attend if the case if it was tried there.

Regardless, let's get this case over and done with so that Noelle's family and loved ones can put this horror behind them.

Agree it needs to move along. No word yet on location of Trial. I'm sure the Defense will ask for a change of venue.

I did hear from Neil Bowen (Sarnia Observer)

The pre-trial hearing took place over two days but no decision by the judge has been made

yet. The pair will be back in court for a video appearance May 12.

Hi Sleuthers!

Noelle's perps will be back in court for a video appearance tomorrow, Monday, May 12...

FYI...

I wonder what this will do to the trial timeline :(

I don't think it would be too upsetting for Sarnia to have the trial here. I think it would be some closure... that the monsters of their city are having their day in court.

I think it is more upsetting that some lawyer somehow linked up two clients in a note passing scheme. That lawyer should be disbarred if proven to have anything to do with this.

This trial will be horrifying. I have no doubt of that.

I do have a question, though. I wasn't on these boards when Tori had her trial. With a publication ban, can information that comes out of the court house during the trial be reported immediately? or is it released only when the judgement comes?

For MR and TLM trial in the Tori case, TLM's case was under the ban as her trial was 1st. We heard little about it until after. Pieces were missing from the reports as they involved MR. At MR's trial, the reports were tweeted from the court room.

http://blackburnnews.com/bri-ontario/2014/08/15/suspects-in-teachers-death-headed-to-trial/

Two suspects in the death of a kindergarten teacher from Sarnia, Ont., are headed straight to trial.

Michael MacGregor, 20, and Tanya Bogdanovich, 32, are charged with first-degree murder in the death of Noelle Paquette...

Bogdanovich's lawyer says the Crown is now proceeding by direct indictment, which allows the prosecution to bypass a preliminary inquiry — a hearing normally held to determine if there is enough evidence to commit an accused to trial.

I am happy to hear the there will not be a preliminary hearing and that the case will go straight to trial.

The less time this drags out for Noelle's family and friends, the better.

So pleased to hear that this trial will be soon and over and done with.

I know they'll be a media black out but are they allowed to report what has happened in trial after the verdict and sentence has been given?

  • #557
I am thrilled that the family will not have to deal with the prelim.

And this news comes the same week that Noelle's charity is honoured. Fantastic.

I believe that with the media black out, as soon as the trial starts, people can release information from the court room... Correct me if I am wrong.

Will the trial be in London?

Not sure where the Trial will be as of my post but please follow the tweets during trial. That's what's allowed in Canada. With most Judges. I don't see why not in this Trial. I will be attending and will report back. Yet during Trial reporters can only tweet what is said in the presence of the Jury. What I report here will be the same. I will take notes and anything worth noting off the record. Will be happy to share after the Verdict.

I hope they publically break down the case in the press as they did in the Stafford Trial. I don't want to be there for the horrific parts.

I believe the below link reports the same as what Okiegranny posted up thread...

But the post above blocked me for some reason...

Hopefully... This link will work...

Soooo... Trial will be next month... September...

I am eagerly awaiting news of the exact date...

:judge:

BBM

Actually, while I wish these animals were coming to trial as soon as September, I don't think that is the case.

http://blackburnnews.com/sarnia/sarnia-news/2014/08/16/sarnia-slaying/

From the above link:
The pair has mostly made brief video court appearances until now and even with the direct indictment a trial is still unlikely to happen soon.

MacGregor and Bogdanovich are set to appear next month in Superior Court in Sarnia.
