New photos released of red minivan linked to child-abduction attempt in South Vancouver

"The incident occurred as a 12-year-old girl was walking home from school around 3:20 p.m. on January 7 near East 50th Avenue and Fraser Street.
After a red minivan allegedly approached her, the driver got out of the vehicle and asked her if she wanted to come with him. She said no to him and ran back to her school to notify staff.
The VPD stated in a news release today (January 10) that investigators are asking the public for dashcam video from anyone who was in the area of St. Georges Street to Prince Albert Street between East 49th Avenue to East 51st Avenue between 3 and 4 p.m. on January 7.
New images of the minivan (with tinted windows and a red work ladder on the roof) were released and investigators believe it is an older Dodge Caravan or Dodge Grand Caravan, with a model year of 2001 to 2007.''
''In a January 8 news release, the suspect was described as a white male who appears to be in his mid-50s. He has a pale complexion and is about 178 centimetres (five-feet, 10-inches) tall with a medium build. He has white hair, facial hair, and yellow teeth. At the time, he was wearing a grey t-shirt and blue jeans.
Anyone who has information or dashcam video is asked to contact investigators at 604-717-0603 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
