A newly filed missing person’s report was recently submitted to Nanaimo RCMP.

The search represents the second missing person’s file in recent months for Nanaimo RCMP involving a sailboat. Amber Nitchman, 34, the owner of the sailboat ‘Gypsy Soul’, remains missing after her boat was discovered washed ashore off Nanaimo’s Bayshore Dr. in the city’s north end on May 15.

I wonder if there's any connection between the two?

Likely just a really odd concidence but I found only one person with her name, and age in the US and Western Canada. That woman is from the Lancaster Area (Virginia). When I did a google search of the name and Lancaster an article in the paper came up with a photo (dance group). The article is from 2007 and the Amber in the article was 17 then. This is very odd. I assume that she was found on the boat, although it doesn't say. And I assume that the boat was in at least passible condition, that it was still floating, although it doesn't say. So presumably she knows what happened to him. If he fell overboard or something why wouldn't they just say that?

I've found two people who commented the he was found alive, one said he's alive but with no source, the other said the brother posted he was found alive. Without knowing the brother's name, I can't find it. I did a keyword search with the name, but it didn't come up.
