So if RS lived in BM basement, and he is missing... do they know that he didn't kill BM?
Do they know where her son is?

Interesting that they are looking for a possible second victim. I wonder if they already have the perp in custody?

They wouldn’t say that unless they had a good idea of who killed her and possibly why. I wonder why they think RS is dead, if a third party killed them why leave her body and take his? Was he the target and she was collateral damage? Or maybe they’re trying to draw him out framing him as a possible victim.

'A 45-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the death of his 71-year-old mother.'

'Justin Morgan of Simcoe was arrested and charged on Friday and was to appear in court on Saturday, OPP Sgt, Ed Sanchuk said in a media release'.

'Sanchuk said police remain concerned about the well-being of a second person, 49-year-old Robert Sykes of Simcoe, who is currently unaccounted for.''
“Rob was best friends with Barb’s son growing up,” said the neighbour. “He always said she was like a mother to him.”

Around 6 p.m. on Thursday, police said investigators found the remains west of Caledonia, south of Sterling Street.

A postmortem to confirm the identity of the victim and cause of death is scheduled for Friday.''

Anyone who may have been in the area of Highway 6 west of Caledonia and south of Sterling Street on Sunday Oct. 5 between 10:30 p.m. and 12 a.m. is asked to contact police.

Investigators are specifically asking drivers, especially transport truck drivers, who may have dashcam video from the area, to check their footage and contact police with any information that may help in the investigation.

So did Barb and her son get in an argument and Rob came in to intervene?
Or was Rob the primary victim and Barb stepped in help?
Why was Rob's body found in a different place? Did Barb's son think that if Rob seemed 'absent' then they might blame Rob instead of Barb's son?

I'm guessing there's a lot of history in these relationships.

That’s very specific timing. They must have pulled that time and location from his cell phone. Barbara was found at 10:30 in the morning, about 12 hours earlier. It’s a very direct route from the house to where the remains were found.
