I just did a drive by. There was a camera man there, but I'm not sure whether he was with the police or news media as I didn't see any news vehicles around (that said, it is a small road, and no parking available on street unless one uses the adjacent parking garage, so maybe news vehicle might have been parked there or some other nearby place out of view). The cameraman wasn't in a uniform and was outside the crime scene tape so I assume not with police.

There is indeed a blue tent in the backyard, though I'm not sure what they're using it for. Perhaps just to keep nosey people from seeing anything going on, perhaps to melt snow and check the grounds, or perhaps just to give cover given that we're expecting some rain over the coming days and up to 15cm of snow on Saturday. There was also a black van there as well that I hadn't seen there before. Not sure what role that vehicle or its staff might have in this investigation. I was hoping it wasn't the coroner.

There were also two forensics units there. The large one, and a smaller SUV type one. Something I noticed as well that I don't think has been mentioned yet which was interesting - the front door had a sticker covering it (small, almost like a file folder label size). It was NOT broken, but I wonder if that was for the chain of evidence? Perhaps to seal the doorway, and maybe someone must sign off on something when they open it? Purely speculation on my part. The sticker was NOT pressed to the opposite side of the door so perhaps it hadn't been sealed off as yet, or perhaps someone just placed a new sticker on today... it didn't look weathered.

I wonder what else if anything officers have found there? I'm told that last night an ambulance was at the scene with lights on but I don't believe that means that a body was found or anything. Its possible an officer may have been struggling with everything they're dealing with, or someone may have had a slip on ice etc. I feel awful for the officers dealing with this scene. I'd worry about possible vicarious trauma in each of them!

Thanks so much for the boots on the ground update. We really appreciate it. And thanks for providing such good details. It helps us understand what is going on there.

Very interesting about the sticker. You could be right that it could be a seal to know if someone enters they have to break the seal but if it was not attached to the other side of door jam then maybe just a notice sticker of some sort.

The only question I had was about the snow cover. How much snow is sitting on the ground now ?

Snow cover could give the investigators trouble if they are considering doing any digging in the yard. Its so interesting to hear about the tents. No telling what is going on in those tents. You had good guesses as to what maybe happening.

Gonna answer r.e. the weather. It's milder today (above freezing) and raining. The rain will continue tomorrow. I think this will help the forensic investigators somewhat. We are due for anther big dumping of snow on the weekend.

I took a few cell photos as we drove by but I can’t speak to snow cover. The adjacent driveway for the house next door was clear and a car parked in it. There were pileons lining I suppose where the house #19 begins and there was some snow under them. It was hard to see the property itself due to the giant forensics van parked out front. I don’t know what the tents in the backyard are for beyond the guesses I already gave. There was a POd storage box on the driveway as well so not sure what that may mean.

for sure. It is kind of coincidental those reviews are by an Adam Strong and feature mostly pregnancy fetishes.

Ick, ick, ick. I remember when I was pregnant with our first child my (15 year old) sister gave me statistics about pregnant sex workers being very highly paid and that murder was one of the no.1 causes of death of pregnant women. I was absolutely horrified.

“He would order up escorts from backpages.com, not street level girls,” the source added.

r.e. the images of the torso circulating on the web: I wonder if the images could have been captured from raw footage of the police boats on the water collecting the remains? There is footage on the video I linked earlier from a helicopter from when the torso was first discovered. I would suppose that the footage has been edited if it included such images.

I took one for the team and signed up w/bestgore, there don’t seem to be any Canadian torsos posted as far as I can tell, I’ll take a more in depth look and check MDS in a few minutes after I get dinner on the table.

There is so much speculation right now about this case, number of victims, cause of death, etc. I hope LE gives the public some type of update on this investigation once their 30 day warrant is over at the crime scene basement apartment.

This guy seems like a very twisted 🤬🤬🤬. How does a person become so twisted? Tough childhood is an excuse these monsters seem to use. A lot of us have had challenging childhoods but we don’t go around killing people like this guy allegedly did.

Yeah, I saw that in the article.

Do you find it odd that AS hasn't gotten a lawyer yet?

No I don’t find it odd at all. Not everyone seeks legal counsel when charges with a crime. Dellen Millard most recently found guilty of the murder of Ms. Babcock acted in his own defence. He and his co-accused were found guilty and the co-accused had a lawyer. Ted Bundy also represented himself. It’s possible AS may opt to represent himself like those before him. Perhaps that’s part of the thrill for him?

There has been so much speculation about this case and so little info from LE. I kind of get the feeling that some people might be disappointed at the end of the day if this turns out to be a single homicide. These groups have painted AS as a psychopathic, serial killing cannibal with really no evidence to go on. We'll see how it all plays out, but at this point he's just a killer who dismembered his victim to me.

It's sad when we ourselves are now saying "he's JUST a killer who dismembered his victim". (Emphasis added by me). We've become so jaded and desensitized. Ugh.

That is the worst writing I have seen!! It ends abruptly, they don't explain things (like what backpage is, most don't know), and just seems shuffled together.

He won't defend himself. It was said in court yesterday that he has applied for legal aid. That process takes time. I do find it odd though that this guy has not been provided some sort of temporary counsel, someone to tell him to keep his mouth shut and not say a word.

Have you ever looked at the legal aid website? I just did as I was curious as to what their income threshold is for someone to be eligible to receive their assistance. I'm wondering what AS income was and whether or not he will be able to qualify for legal aid.

So to my understanding, and I might be misunderstanding this, but it seems as a "single boarder" he'd have to earn below $8694 gross per year to qualify. If he makes more than that, but less than $10,352 he could do a contribution agreement which would have him pay $50 / month toward his legal fees. If his income is above that second amount, will legal aid still take the case on?

Someone please correct me if I've misunderstood their eligibility requirements... its early and I need coffee!

Yes, you are understand it correctly. However, it's puzzling, because what is the difference between "number of family members (1)" and "single boarders"? In either sense, he could qualify for the certificate program, the contribution agreement, or duty counsel.

How does someone exactly work and pay for their contribution agreement if they're in jail on remand? Not that I care if or how this man receives representation.
