Hi Folks. I'm wondering if there are any updates from locals in the last few days on what may be happening on the property?

Hi Folks. I'm wondering if there are any updates from locals in the last few days on what may be happening on the property?

The family: a walk is being planned by the family in Rori’s memory. It should be happening sometime in the end of February. Details have not been released as yet. There is also a campaign to have community members attend the court house to support the family on January 24 when AS has his next video appearance. People are being asked to wear purple ribbons as a show of silent support and to pls not approach family as they have asked for their privacy at this most difficult time.

The Scene: I drove by yesterday. Someone had placed flowers at the house as a reminder for others to think of Rori and not the one responsible for her demise. There was still a cruiser on scene with lights on and a large forensic truck. I noticed the pod that has been there throughout most of the investigation was not there. I will note it had moved and come back once previously as well so that may or may not be an indication of anything significant.

Walked by over lunch today. Forensics took a small chest freezer from the house and loaded it into one of the Forensics trucks and took it away.

Catching up.

Im a little surprised LE has taken so long to process the home. It almost makes me think they did find some evidence that points to other victims.

I know they had a month search warrant but I would have thought they would have processed the scene faster if it was just one victim. Unless they are just trying to get all the evidence they can to make sure they can prosecute this perp.

In other cases LE seems to work quickly through a scene and seems to release it back to whoever fairly quickly. For some reason they are taking their time and really going through it thoroughly which is a good thing. It makes me suspect they may have found more evidence that could point to other victims.

I suppose we would not hear about another possible victim of his until LE would end up charging him with something else if they did find something else.

Im glad they are taking their time and just hope that LE found all there is to be found. If the perp did commit any other murders then I would hope LE found something to help them solve other case(s). If the perp only committed this one murder then it means there is still another perp(s) out there that did some of the others. Which is why I was kind of hoping this perp would be the key to closing one or more of the other cases. If he has not done anything more than the one murder then I hope LE can find renewed interest in solving the other unsolved murders.

It certainly implies that there's more to be seen from this individual, doesn't it?

Police have not extended the warrant as of this morning. Not to say they won't, but they haven't yet.

Okay, conflicting information now :). Could you or RPS33 provide a source?

Hard to supply a source to something that didn’t happen. It came from a poorly written news piece. The question was later asked to the information officer at drps and the reply stated that there hasn’t been an extension beyond the 30 days.

I believe it’s the original 30 day extension that they were granted a few weeks ago, not ANOTHER 30 days. There was an article in Durham radio news that made the suggestion of the extension however, it was poorly worded and unclear. It wouldn’t make sense for them to apply to extend the warrant when so much time is left on the original extension. News of a second extension would surely have been in major news like cp24 but since it wasn’t, I don’t think it’s a second extension.

This is a link to the article causing the confusion: http://www.durhamradionews.com/archives/108009

But again, no other *major* news is carrying the story of a supposed second extension, leading me to believe this small town source simply has a poorly worded article.
