CANADA Canada - Ryan Shtuka, 20, Kamloops, BC, 17 Feb 2018

  • #401
A fundraising dinner is planned in Kamloops as Bailey’s Pub on Feb. 15 starting at 5:30 p.m.
I am assuming alcohol will be served at this dinner and maybe some of the locals might loosen up about what they know about Ryan disappearance. Its just a thought since nothing else has worked so far.

Mom dreams of missing son - Kamloops News

Snipped...
...“My heart is shattered,” said Heather Shtuka. “I dreamed this morning that I saw him.” In her dream, her son walked into the house and the cry she gave pierced her soul. “I held him tight afraid to let go... breathing in his smell, feeling his arms wrap around me, hearing him tell me how much he missed me as his tears and mine fell.” And then he was gone.”

That is so beautiful and touching, my heart hurts for this mom longing for her lost son.
Ryan, wherever you are - please keep reaching out so you can be found.

Some folks might believe that was a “visitation” to say “I’m ok Mom”.
God Bless her.

This case reminds me a bit of Owen Rooney's case (not that I think there is any connection). It speaks to the vulnerability of youth who venture out into the world, and to the love and dedication of the family they leave behind. In both Ryan and Owen's cases you have young adult males that came to the interior of BC to work at ski resorts and live the party lifestyle. Although Owen went missing in the summer, and in Grand Forks, not Sun Peaks, like Ryan he had been partying with friends prior to his disappearance. His family traveled to Canada from Australia to search tirelessly for him. I don't think it will ever be known for sure if Owen's death was accident, suicide, or foul play--but most assume accident. His remains were ultimately found in a remote wilderness area about 3 km from his last known wherabouts. It took 7 years before he was discovered. Similarly for Ryan, he likely succumbed to the elements, and is likely within 3 km of his home/the house he was last seen at. He has already been missing for one year...hopefully it won't be 6 more.

I wonder if family have thought of using Aerial photos like Matthew Weaver’s family did. Might spot clothing once snow melts.

Yes - there are specific types of drones that are made for this very purpose.

Bumping for Ryan. I don't know what else to say that that hasn't been said.

When the snow melts this spring maybe the ground will reveal some evidence of Ryan that wasn't located last spring.

“Investigators from the Southeast District Major Crime Unit (SED MCU) and Merritt RCMP have been working hard to determine what led to Ben Tyner’s sudden disappearance in late January.”

I know this is a thread for Ryan but I wish the RCMP would have the same sense of urgency and line of inquiry in Ryan's investigation as they do in Ben Tyner's investigation. IMO both Ben and Ryan disappeared under suspicious circumstances. Ryan was last seen at a house party but no one actually saw him leave the house and there have been numerous searches with over a thousand volunteers but no trace of Ryan. Was Ryan targeted that night or was he a victim of a tragic accident.

I truly think the RCMP have information, not shared with the public. I do believe they need to find Ryan to solve this case. Why would someone target a young man that had only been out there for a few months? This whole case is just heartbreaking. Ryan needs to be found so his family can go on. Hopefully 2019 will be the year. People have said that mother nature has a way of covering up remains (I hate saying this). Maybe someone will find him by accident. I don't know, I don't get it. How does a young man just disappear??????
