Maybe they are waiting for the statutes of limitations to pass on their related or lesser crimes before coming forward. I talked to people in Sun Peaks about this case, locals. It's considered a clandestine disappearance by popular opinion, as far as I can measure. I live in Sun Peaks now but did not back in 2018.
I'm am so curious about this, especially since an unspoken consensus sounds like :(

I am mostly curious if there was an interaction or association or random accident covered up by someone who didn't know Ryan. Sure wish there was closure on this one, that poor family.

IMHO I think the one person "in the know" that WOULD have "spilled the tea" is unfortunately no longer alive. MOO.
(ETA:.....due to an unfortunate accidental fall. IMHO)
Was the accidental fall in the news? I will google. They must've had friends! So frustrating.

The only ones I found through research around Sun Peaks was a 68 year old found December December 12, and an "adult male" who died March 31. What is the evidence either one knew what happened regarding Ryan's disappearance?

...On May 13, the organization put out an appeal on social media for a tipster who left messages last month to contact them again so they could verify the information.

“We have connected with the tipster since our post and have more information,” Oldrieve said, but he was unable to provide any details.

A renewed search took place in Sun Peaks last fall for missing Alberta man Ryan Shtuka, who disappeared in the resort municipality eight years ago today as a break in the case continues to elude investigators.

On Feb. 17, 2018, Shtuka, who was 20 at the time, vanished in Sun Peaks. He was last seen attending a house party on Burfield Drive.

Mounties have not ruled out foul play, but have not reported finding anything suspicious. His disappearance remains a mystery.

Ryan’s mother Heather Shtuka said she’s heard nothing new about the police investigation into her son’s disappearance, but she continues to speak awareness and keep her son’s name in the public consciousness.

She said she continues to have regular meetings with Kamloops RCMP who provide her status updates on how the investigation is going and about any tips that come in.

“They'll let us know what they're doing in terms of investigating and running down those leads,
