I have been busy at a conference and unable to participate in the discussion until now. Ironically, the annual conference that I attended was held in Ottawa last year. I'm pretty sure there were a lot of us doing a quick check of Parliament Hill before the conference began at noon. Obviously it was a hot topic of discussion on Wednesday, as we checked in for the conference this year.

So my apologies if these images have already been posted on this thread, but I wanted to share them as they have touched me.

Watching the OPP just now makes me realize how much we all forget how many people put themselves on the line for us 24/7................we just take it for granted.

all right that did it ..... the flag on the amber alert sign was very touching and made me cry...I imagine his mother must have melted....she's getting closer to home and it's got to be rough on the family at this point.

Events like those of the last few days make Canada feel like a small community, rather than a vast country that stretches from ocean to ocean.

I was at a national conference, with people from Newfoundland to BC, a vast distance. It is wonderful to feel connected and everyone certainly felt even more so this year.
