Police say they’ve since learned that White’s vehicle left Kamloops for about 45 minutes on Nov.1, not long after she was supposed to arrive at work.

The vehicle was spotted heading west on the Trans Canada Highway, which police say led them and Kamloops Search and Rescue to the area being searched on Friday.

“With this new information, the Kamloops RCMP are seeking any witnesses who may have observed Shannon’s Jeep west of Kamloops on Nov. 1, to please contact police,” Kamloops RCMP Cpl. Dave Marshall said in a media release.

Police said they were also at the Silver Sage trailer park on Friday as a part of the investigation.

:bump:

Just reviewing....her jeep left kamloops driving westbound on TCH for about 45 mins after she should have been at work.

-------

Kamloops Hyundai to Pendleton Creek / Greenstone Road area is west on the TCH before going south = approx 20 mins drive one-way.

ETA: comments underneath mention Shannon and Ryan Shtuka.

Almost always the RCMP use different terminology - human remains versus skeletal remains - depending on the condition of what was found. That causes me to wonder if the deceased person passed away more recently than Shannon or Ryan but I certainly could be wrong.

Not a body, but human remains / bones "scattered remains" likely by animals.

Thanks Vern. I was hoping to find the actual press release and couldn't find it yesterday.

The timeline is odd, I guess people started asking questions so they did the release a couple weeks after the find?..

Following the discovery perhaps it took a couple weeks to determine the remains were that of a human?

Her landlord said I believe that she didn't drive away immediately after he saw her get in car.

We can maybe assume from what her friend said, that she had either messaged or texted her around same time, that that delay was possibly due to her looking at her phone and the message(s) before she drove off.

All the aboved linked to upthread.

Whether she stopped off for coffee - who said this? - I think might depend on whether this was a regular thing for her to do en route to work.

Alk we know for sure, is that she left that morning to go to work, and never arrived. Whether she was apprehended by someone or this was of her own volition, we don't know.
just reading this thread 3 yrs later. Seems if SW was abducted, whomever did it would have left DNA in her JEEP...unless the person was wearing surgical gloves and a mask...also would think there would be
contamination from her blood somewhere. just IMO and it seems odd to abduct some one in broad daylight when the person is due at work and would be missed ... not a thought out plan, but more "stayed-up-all-night-raging." IMO.

Yes indeed, an excellent question.

MOO, but based on the information released to the public so far it doesn't seem possible to solve her disappearance.

We know Shannon's Jeep was located shortly after her disappearance, but we do not have any information regarding possible forensic testing of her vehicle by the RCMP.

Per MSM reports we also know that her ex-BFs trailer was extensively searched. However I don't believe the RCMP released any information regarding that search or what may have been found.
no info on phone, internet, social media DMs? did she always lock her car? Not even sure if her JEEP had a soft cover but imagine that would not be good in a BC fall/winter. Did they find her keys, phone, wallet, purse or backpack or whatever she carried? And as far as her stopping for coffee, I expect if she did, the shop would have told LE. Not thinking that it would be easy to find remains with weather, rural area, bears, etc. IMO.

I'm a Kamloops local. A lot of people are wondering if this could be Shannon or Ryan Shtuka. However, there are a quite a few missing person cases in the general area. There has also been an escalating problem with gangs/drugs - the 'seedy underworld' if you want to call it that - in the area over the last few years. Just this past weekend someone was murdered and dumped in a rural area northeast of the city + RCMP are saying it was "targeted" which is usually cop-speak for a gang killing or a drug connection. I wouldn't rule out something like that.

"Partial scattered remains" does make me think that they have been there for some time which would fit with Shannon or Ryan's cases.

The area they found the remains in is not remote or hard to access, but not used terribly often. There are unsanctioned mountain bike trails in the area and people do take motorcycles up there but other than those uses, it's not super busy. People do live somewhat nearby in Cherry Creek, but it's not overly populated either. There's a mine nearby and of course the highway. I guess what I'm getting at is that it's a fairly opportune place to hide a body, could be anyone. I would love to see Shannon or Ryan's cases solved though and I hope we do get some details from the RCMP soon.

[Trigger Warning]: theories, questions, potentially previously discussed material as it pertains to missing Shannon White

Shannon was confirmed to have last been seen on November 01, 2021. Or perhaps, October 31?

I have read that her landlord, who occupied the top portion of the home, spoke to her on Halloween night in 2021 and nothing seemed awry. Multiple news articles reported that when he witnessed her vehicle leaving the driveway the next morning, November 1st, 2021, at the same time it always did, he potentially couldn't confirm that it was in fact SW driving away. But again, nothing seemed awry. That is, until a mere 10 - 15 minutes later, when Shannon didn't show up for work.

We know that Shannon's jeep was spotted driving along the Trans Canada Hwy WEST of City limits on the morning of November 1st; likely around the time her coworkers were expecting her or, noticing her unusual tardiness.
Her jeep was spotted for a 2nd time that same day, this time heading NORTH past Rayleigh at about 5:30PM, and a 3rd time, returning South at about 6:15.
These areas have been heavily searched.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thoughts::

There was a slew of successful and unsuccessful carjacking incidences with subsequent attempted kidnapping and auto theft cases; mostly from gas stations, but the area of the city in which Shannon lived was hit with at least 2 in approximately 2 years.

Could someone have been laying in wait for her in her vehicle that morning?

Could she have had a visitor already with her on Halloween night?

Could this be a scenario where it was an accidental overdose, and someone (or multiple people) panicked?

Was more than one person involved?? ... Shannon was seemingly a strong, intelligent, independent woman, who's lust for life and adventure brought travels and experiences shaping her continuous growth & strength. I feel like she would have fought.

Do you think there is significance in her jeep being parked in front of a church?
Is that remorse? Did the driver live nearby? Is there a bus route the driver was familiar with that ran in the early morning hours? Remember.. it was November 1st-2nd. It was frigid cold, and these bus systems aren't always reliable. I would also assume these transit busses now have CCTV/Security cameras.
So, did the driver have a friend living nearby? Perhaps the driver sustained injuries and walked from the jeep to the Kamloops Royal Inland Hospital (700 meters away from Shannons abandoned jeep)

Let me know your thoughts!

In honor of Shannon White and the upcoming 3rd annual fundraiser BBQ&RIDE fundraiser on September 28th, 2025.

Did the RCMP ever follow-up about the remains in April?

He [the landlord] potentially couldn't confirm that it was in fact SW driving away.

It wasn't just the landlord who saw her leave, but also his wife who was in the driveway:

" I saw her drive away and turn the direction she’s supposed to turn. She had walked past my wife who was in her vehicle in the driveway, as she does all the time. It was nothing different,” Hatch said"

There was a slew of successful and unsuccessful carjacking incidences with subsequent attempted kidnapping and auto theft cases; mostly from gas stations, but the area of the city in which Shannon lived was hit with at least 2 in approximately 2 years.

However, there are CCTV cameras all over gas stations. I can't imagine it was a daylight rush-hour abduction at a gas station, that no one happened to notice or police didn't detect in reviewing all the CCTV they must have reviewed.

IMO, this was a targeted abduction, which took place as Shannon was following her normal going-to-work routine. IMO, it likely happened in the morning because that is precisely when people follow a very predictable routine, and so it's possible for someone to plan the whole thing, and lie in wait for her, somewhere outside the range of cameras or witnesses.

IMO, police likely know when and where it happened, simply by tracing her normal route.

It is not, unfortunately, a unique case. Just 3 examples: Jodi Huesentruit, Jennifer Kesse and Naomi Irion are women who disappeared on their way to work. The only solved case among the 3 was Naomi's. A stranger had stalked her morning routine, and forced his way into her vehicle and drove it away.

One does not need extraordinary strength, if you have the element of surprise.

Yes, I believe the remains were that of Dylan Godfrey (43) of Kamloops BC
