I have updated my information in a previous comment. The remains were identified as a fort st male reported missing in 2003.
Oh ok! Fort Nelson resident.

Thank you for correcting me. I follow many mmwm2s+ throughout the northern and interior parts of British Columbia.

I seem to have gotten those two locations near Kamloops mixed up.

CORRECTION; Pendleton Creek remains found in April 2025 identified as 27-year-old Jordan Nande, Fort Nelson resident, who went missing in February 2023 have been found in the Pendleton Creek area of rural Kamloops, with police suspecting foul play in his death. Nande, who left Fort Nelson with associates and was last known to be in Kamloops.

Please see the attached.

Thank u for updating @JanePelp !

I missed that & am relieved & appreciate another mystery is solved.

So where is Shannon?!

So where is Shannon?!
IMO, the crime scene was west of Kamloops, but her remains were taken north.

Why else would the vehicle have been driven north that evening, just as it was getting dark?

I agree, this is a probably theory. But with such a short timeframe (both times the Jeep left the city, it returned within 45 minutes) and given the time of year (temperature, ice, conditions) .... where would you go, get rid of all evidence successfully for years?

The thing is, while I agree the crime most likely took place west of town, it would be risky to drive and move the body later, even in the dark, to the north of town. Especially being as it seems people did see her jeep supposedly several times that day. I wonder if the perp had the vehicle during the day, where he would've gone with it, other than north for less than an hour, before dropping it downtown. Perhaps the trip north was to get rid of evidence and clean the jeep out. Wonder if LE actually did forensic testing on the jeep! IMO. By the way, for those wondering, there are many forestry roads, side roads, wilderness parks and the like north of Kamloops where a perp could hide evidence.

Good point. Given what we do know it's likely that whoever was involved knew SWs routine and therefore would likely know that she would quickly be noticed missing.

I believe we won't know what, if any, evidence was found in the Jeep until charges are laid, so I try not to take those 'what ifs' with much weight.

And, yes, there are a ton of FSRs, farmland, reserve land , waterways/ponds/lakes/streams, etc. withing the area(s).

And so I emphasize "successfully, for years?"

Because despite that, the areas within the direction and times of sightings have been searched over and over again by dogs, quads & drones to no avail.

Actually, yes I do think hiding evidence for years is possible due to the vast wilderness and expanse of that area. It is not like every spot within the driving distance can be covered completely. I live in the BC interior, and there is a thick wilderness to be had, with so many forestry roads, etc. that are endless, especially in the interior! And in easy distance from our interior small cities such as Kamloops. IMO :)

Yes, especially as it was an offroading jeep.

IMO, the perp wasn't randomly driving around, but already knew/prepared a location. Unfortunately, there are cases where a burial site is prepared well in advance....

Rayleigh is 15 minutes north of Kamloops. Past it, there are side road/offroad tracks and trails, and not much else. I think the person could have gone another 15 minutes or so, and have time to go back.

Also, by driving the victims vehicle, they don't have to worry about the victim's DNA. In terms of their own DNA, gloves, heavy coat, boots, hat, could prevent transfer into the jeep.

I absolutely wasn't debating you or your opinion.
My apologies if my response came off that way.

I am also currently local to the interior and I'm well aware of the terrains, climate and capabilities of an of road vehicle.

What I find to be most baffling is that Kamloops and the surrounding areas have a high number of missing men, women, and unsolved murders. The two cases involving the young caucasians with blond hair and blue eyes gained a massive, massive amount of ongoing news and media attention, funding, volunteer supports, RCMP supports and searches in very specific areas defined by tips and witnesses.

Again, it was November, so it was hovering around freezing temperatures that morning in 2021 according to historical weather data.

I'd be very interested to see (visually; via overlapping search maps) the areas searched by k9s, RCMP, volunteers, family etc. compared to the areas in which one could travel to and from within that 45 minute time frame.

This case is solvable imo. I'm just surprised it's taken this long...

Thanks for the reminder & bringing us/me back to Rayleigh!!!!!!

Snipped...
...Police had said last week that Shannon’s Jeep TJ was seen driving on the Trans-Canada Highway west of city limits on Nov. 1, and, today, police also say it was spotted heading north past Rayleigh around 5:30 p.m. that same day, before it was seen returning south, about 6:15 p.m.
