Family 'extremely lucky' to be alive after getting lost in Manitoba on their way to Toronto

This would've been a mystery for awhile until and if they were ever found. WS members learned all about how remote and brutal rural Manitoba is in a recent case, the Manitoba manhunt in the summer.

Waldner believes the children's parents were using their cellphones for directions and were misguided. The area has poor cell reception, he said.

They were pretty much in a shutdown mode because they were so cold they couldn't walk anymore. It was -15 C. They were just wearing runners in six or seven inches of snow," he said.
