Hailey's mom didn't make a statement until after the remains were discovered. A friend of the family made a statement requesting that whomever had the child should let her go.

What does a request for the release of an abducted child tell us?

It tells us that the family still had hope. It doesn't tell us any more than that.

Here is the link to the child screaming: "white van ripping through the area" and a "child screaming":

Article actual says nothing about a "child screaming". It does say RCMP suspect she was abducted, but no mention of screaming. The "white van ripping though the area"...it actually says "suspect vehicle fled the residence at a high rate of speed". Not disputing your points, just need to make sure things are being said as reported.

The police found no evidence in the home or surrounding property indicating Hailey was seriously physically harmed at that point. If his motive was just to kill them both, it would have made more sense to leave them both inside the home. He took her because he had intentions to do something to/with her. He also came prepared with a vehicle large enough that it could conceal a child in the back.

Any speculation about kidnapping her for her mother should be completely ignored IMO. I honestly think if that were the case, killing her father would have been enough for the mother to get full custody without any kidnapping tactics which would only implicate her in the end.

We don't know for certain that Hailey was taken alive from the house, but the only reason I can think why he would take her dead body from the house also fits in with the sexual molestation theory - either he wanted to molest her dead body or he wanted to burn the body to hide the evidence of sexual assault.

Why else would he kill Hailey in the house but then take her body away to a secluded area? Taking a dead body in his van would also be very risky, and the body would probably leave a lot of dna evidence in his van.

I don't think that they would have issued an Amber Alert if they thought Hailey was deceased when she was taken from home, they probably never found any evidence to indicate that Hailey had been murdered, plus the reported scream.

With tent set up where Hailey was found makes me think that this is also where Hailey was murdered,

I wonder if DS had the van back before the business opened

"Fled the residence at a high rate of speed and was headed west." I'm wondering if this was noticed on the street at the front of the home, which would be the most likely place to be noticed and the most likely place in which a high rate of speed could be obtained; then why all the evidence markers that lead to the back alley and by all indications those markers appear to resemble a blood trail.

Thus was a dry cleaning van. Industrial dry cleaning chemicals can remove evidence.

The tent in question is large, compared to other crime scenes. It may be the site of "indignity" without being the place HDB drew her last breath. The term seems far too genteel.

WRT to the Amber Alert, last year a little boy was taken in Calgary. Police had a pretty good idea from the crime scene that he likely perished there, but an Amber Alert still went into effect. Certainly he was at risk. He has never been found.

How can you tell from a photo that markers in a yard are related to blood?

Police have hope that abducted victims are alive until there is proof that they are not alive. Nothing at the scene of the crime (Terry's house) suggested that the child was injured or deceased - justifying the amber alert.

i think you are referring to Nathan OBrien and investigators did find enough evidence within the house to charge the suspect with 1st degree murder for all 3 victims. His parents were aware of this when they made their statement to the press but were not allowed to say anything because the police wanted to have the public looking for both Nathan and the suspect. They later told the media that they had been informed of the findings in the house prior to the press conference.

I'm of the thought that LE didn't even know a child was at the residence when the first pictures aired showing the crime scene tape around Terry's place. CD was notified by her mom to look at the picture on Facebook. CD then called the RCMP. I think this was the reason for the lateness in issuing the AA.

Do we know for certain that HDB was taken alive? If not, I'm sure LE would be doing DNA testing on the blood found at the residence to determine if HDB blood was present.

Just my thoughts on this.

This video includes witness information about the speeding van and the screaming child. From that information, I arrived at the understanding that the speeding van and screaming child were both outside of the house.

Other than the pattern that leads from the side of the home where the steps are to the back where a vehicle would be parked you can't tell if the markers indicate blood. They run in a line as opposed to be scattered all over the place.
