"Toronto’s LGBTQ community is rallying around a man who says he was violently attacked and robbed after bringing another man home earlier this week.

On Tuesday night, Ryan Boa was celebrating his 20th birthday with friends at Statlers, near Church and Wellesley streets, and took to the stage dressed in drag.

The man — whom Boa describes as “cute” and “charismatic” — began showing an interest, tipping him and buying him drinks.

Around 2:30 a.m., the two left together and went back to Boa’s place, where the man started making sexual advances. Boa resisted and said that’s when the assault happened".
