Police say a 26-year-old woman was driving in the area of Yonge Street and Finch Avenue when she was struck from behind by another car.

When the woman got out to inspect the damage to her car, she was overwhelmed by three to four men, who forced her into another car.
Police say she was driven for about an hour when she managed to escape in the 16th Avenue and Leslie Street area in Richmond Hill.
Officers located the victim and took her to hospital, where she was treated for unknown injuries.

Police speculate the motive was for a robbery and that she was targeted in the attack.

“I haven’t seen this kind of action before here in Toronto, but it worked. It got her out of the car,” says Det. David Zajac in Friday’s press conference.
It’s believed the suspects were driving a 2014-2016 dark Volvo S-80 car at the time of the abduction.
Anyone who may have dash-cam video or other security camera images from the Church Ave. and Longmore St. area around 12:35am Thursday is asked to contact police.
