Identified! Canada - Toronto, Ont, LIVING white woman, Sep'12 - Linda Hegg

I submitted a tip through their 222tips.com site.

The problem is I was at work when I made the discovery and had to keep leaving and coming back to WS to follow the thread today. I do think someone else contacted both LE agencies too.... maybe cubby?

Good job, DylansMom34!

I suggested contacting both agencies, but I did not contact either.

I had e-mailed the Newark police chief (was the contact on the Newark page) and he already responded with:

Thank you! We are talking with Toronto PD now.
Chief Paul M. Tiernan

(I did not take credit btw lol) Must feel awesome dylansmom!

Both agencies are in contact with each other. Let's hope it's an easy ID.

benedryl usually works for me. At least with this one the wait shouldn't be too long and the family will have a happy ending.

DylansMom, if I may ask, did you join WS as a result of Jessicas' case? Because when I saw your location, I couldn't help but think Jessica knew so many where searching for her, she led you to find this (pending) match. :rose:

Yes I came to WB when Jessica was missing. I am located very very close to Jessica.

So Jessica brought me here, so yes, Jessica brought me to helping with this possible match. All things for a reason...

I keep thinking "wow" because "wow" is all I am capable of thinking right now (and no I haven't had that wine lol)

Still waiting to hear back from that reporter, I thought she was going to call me before I had to go to an eye doctor appointment. I've emailed her so hopefully we'll know something soon.

That seems a little suspicious to me, I mean you JUST posted this and all of a sudden someone else sends it in?

That is awesome Dylansmom!

Police confirm link... :) woohoo

I guess according to the news story another lady in Canada found the same information I did and reported it before we did. But I still feel really good about this.

Great job anyway. I'm sure this is a match.

I would love to add another Match! flagged thread to our list, but we had a similar situation with Bambi Dick/Amarillo Jane Doe where one of our members spotted the match, but was beaten to the call by someone else who had also spotted the match. That thread is not flagged Match! either.

Yeah I guess my first find wasn't really mine. Oh well, its still good news if Linda has her identity back...

FWIW....someone on the Missing People of Canada FB Page posted info about WS and copied the information there so I'm assuming the Canadian woman is the one they refer to in the article as having contacted LE.

For the record, it wasn't me. In my opinion, dylansmom deserves all the credit! You found the connection.

Great Job!! Also, wanted to say that I read your post about Jessica guiding you to find Linda's identity and tears flowed. I believe.

Thanks for all you do Websleuthers! We rock!:rocker:

PS This is a great example that there are no borders when it comes to missing and unidentified persons. Follow your gut, follow your instinct, and above all, keep on sleuthing.

:rose:

I'm so happy Linda is "found". :)

To me, its just so awe inspiring that there are so many people who care about finding and identifying lost loved ones. I've always had an interest in "digging" into things but hadn't gotten involved in websleuth's until Jessica's case happened. I'll keep digging since feels so good to try and help like that and maybe someday I'll really have a first find! :)
