Identified! Canada - Toronto, Ont, LIVING white woman, Sep'12 - Linda Hegg

Quote:
Police said she was well dressed and well manicured, and can't remember anything about her past.

But in recent interviews, she mentioned Halifax, specifically the intersection of Barrington Street and Spring Garden Road.

Wonder if there was a hit and run or a car accident at that intersection that she was involved in.... Maybe thats what caused her memory loss??

I emailed the reporter Katy Bowman yesterday, and Katy said she hasn't heard anything re: Linda as of yet, she believes they are still awaiting DNA test results. She said if she learns anything she will let me know.

Me too! Couldn't they have used fingerprints, I'm sure some must have been available from the apartment where the missing Linda lives???

Yeah, I don't know why it's taking forever. One would think it's a simple process but perhaps it has to do with cross border regulations. IDK

There will be a live chat on December 4th. at noon on thestar.com with the author!

I'll be at work and hopefully will try to log on to ask him what we all want to know!! If anyone is free to do the same, it would be great.

Unfortunately, you have to subscribe to get "Linda's Story" or purchase a copy for $2.99 from what I understand. I would purchase it but I'm not sure it will confirm her identity! What do you all think?

LIVE CHAT: Ask Contenta your questions about this eRead on Dec. 4 at noon on thestar.com.

Looking for the online link to news story (sometimes appears later) but for now, from the very long news article from today's (sunday) edition of Toronto Star...reference to WS.er top of page A9...

"The next day, a member of the web-sleuths.com forum spotted the same connection, unaware others had already done so." This woman sort of resembles her.Although the height is off a few inches". wrote someone from Colorado who posted as DylansMom34. She emailed the information to the Toronto Crime Stoppers 222tips.com site.
' I found her in a very primitive way" DylansMom34 added. ' I did a google for ' missing blonde woman" and started scrolling through recent news stories.
Luckily they had just done an update on November 6 so it was not very far down"

Oh wow... this is so awesome. Thanks for posting this! I'll have to watch their online site to see if the article gets posted online. So, do they state for certain that the two Linda's are the same person?

You are very welcome, it makes all of us look good!
It seems they are awaiting DNA confirmation of a ( very strong poss. match) to verify absolutely.

I asked the question but it's very slow to load. Reading some of the comments and it appears the topic has mostly to do with Amnesia than Linda's Story.

I don't think she was officially identified yet.

From the chat:

Everyone is waiting for that. Police believe she might be a woman named Linda Hegg, who lives in Newark, Delaware. The have taken DNA samples from a member of her family and are now testing it with Linda's DNA here. The hope to have a result by the end of next week.

From the Chat in reply to my question wondering if Linda Hegg was officially identified:

Hi Guest -- No, no official ID yet. DNA tests are being done. Answer should come in about a week. Police believe there's a strong change it is Linda Hegg.
