''Homicide and Missing Persons Unit
Case #: 2025-883861

Published: Wednesday, November 5, 2025, 9:00 AM

The Toronto Police Service is requesting the public’s assistance identifying a person in an Unidentified Human Remains investigation.

On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 2:18 p.m., emergency services were called to the Spadina Road and Bloor Street West area, near the Spadina Subway Station, where a person was found dead.

The coroner deemed the death as not being suspicious.

Investigators are requesting assistance from the public in identifying this person.

This individual is described as: approximately 40-55 years old, 5'3", approximately 158 lbs., with black hair, and brown eyes and was wearing a black and white t-shirt with a Nike Air Max logo on the front, grey pants, grey Crocs, and a beaded bracelet that reads “You Belong”. Two black purses, neither of which contained identification, were also located with the remains.

Investigators believe this person may have ties to London, Ontario.

An artist's rendering of the individual has been released, along with an image of their belongings.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at 416-808-7411, Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477), or at www.222tips.com.''

''Toronto Police say the person, whose gender has not been released, was found dead in the area of Spadina Rd. and Bloor St. W. around 2:20 p.m. on April 29, 2025.''

''Toronto police are looking to identify a person who was found dead in the city’s Annex neighbourhood earlier this year.

Emergency crews were called to the area of Spadina Road and Bloor Street West on the afternoon of April 29 after a deceased person was located near the subway station, police said in a news release issued Wednesday.
The cause of death was not released by police, but the coroner has deemed it to be not suspicious.''

''Investigators believe that the unidentified individual may have ties to London, Ont., but didn’t specify how they came to that conclusion.''

Why a sketch? Did they not take photos at autopsy?

Why a sketch? Did they not take photos at autopsy?

Because you generally can't publish pictures of corpses on the news. The sketch looks traced over a postmortem image anyways.

That makes sense ethically. Puzzling though that the sketch artist says the unidentified person was found in Virginia.

''Investigators said they have reason to believe the person may have been a part of the gender non-conforming or transgender community, Ashley Visser, a spokesperson for Toronto police, told the Star.''
