Bowman was last seen leaving his hunting camp, 83 kilometres north of Massey, Ontario, at the north end of Highway 810, District Algoma, Monestine Township on October 15, 1979. He has never been seen again.
At the time of his disappearance he was carrying a Lee-Enfield .303 caliber rifle. Few details are available in his case.
