Woman escaped rural sex attack only to become lost in woods for 12 days

He explained that police and search-and-rescue volunteers began looking for the woman after her mother reported her missing.

Despite her injured jaw, and through garbled speech, she was able to briefly talk about the ordeal with investigators, and to identify her alleged attacker.

I saw this news item yesterday and the woman's name was mentioned. I noticed that National Post was discreet and didn't broadcast her name. (There wasn't a missing thread on WS for this woman prior to her being found.)

What an ordeal for this poor young woman!

She must have been scared to even get in the truck with oilman that rescued her. She certainly had a will to live. Good for her. She's a strong woman.

What is amazing to me, is the attacker was willing to let her die out there.....to hide his crime! Wow, I hope he gets the max sentence!

Kevin Roy Gladue has been charged with aggravated assault, sexual assault and obstructing a peace officer. He will appear by closed circuit television in Rocky Mountain House Provincial Court on July 31.
