ITA. You're right. Now that I look at it the way you explain it, I'm sure the logo is in the same place in both pics.

The logo is to the right, just below her right leg because she has her leg sort of up and over the side of the seat instead of straight in front of her (or her left leg if you take into account the reverse effect/mirror image of the photo as you did, is up over the seat with the logo-which is off to the side-just below it). And just below the other leg you can see the adjuster strap which is in the middle-just like in the evidence photo.

I really believe they are the same seat. It does seem as if LE was getting at something with the car seats in their questioning and the remark they made that lizzy posted a couple posts above in #297. Maybe the car seat was cleaned? I don't know what they were getting at but I still think it's the same seat.
If the seat was cleaned...wouldn't he still need to do a visual to help find that out? A visual would be valuable in determining if signs of a cleaning can be found. Missed spots, distorted spots not cleaned well. He said- "I'll do a visual on the carseat- unsure of the value- due to the circumstances"
It appears he is saying he WILL do a visual..hasn't looked yet... On a cleaned seat it would matter.. but on a known switched seat? Why would it matter?

OKay I still don't know what you guys are referencing when you say she switched seats. Switched seats when and where? The seats still look the same to me if that means anything.

I am posturing on whether it is a) George's seat, same model as Casey's or b) George's seat, different model than Casey's
I think Carrie is right in that it probably is in fact the same seat as far as model goes ...but I think it is Georges, not Casey's. A switch occurred with the same model/color of seat.

When would this switch have occurred?? I mean they took the car seat with the car didn't they?

ETA: okay you mean since LE failed to take the car right away it allowed time to switch the car seats?

Right. After reading Cindy's depo..big red flags were popping up..the SA seem's to know something. she only talked about 2 carseats, hers and Caseys. Then I noticed in her FBI interview she said they "all" had carseats.
She says hers is brown and tan... George has a black HHR... maybe his carseat is black/grey.. Then I found the note in the FBI communications.

I picked "not enough detail to say for sure" for the poll. However, after looking back over at all four pictures of the car seats again and again I think that seats 1, 3 and 4 are the same. Possible 2 being the same as well with the added head support for a younger child.

The problem I am having though is that in pictures 3 and 4 the car seat is entirely to clean for it to have been the seat that Caylee used on a daily basis unless it was washed (the upholstered cover) during the washing and cleaning of the car that Cindy did. If you look at picture 4 you can see that Casey was not a very neat person. In the seat beside the car seat there are shoes and who knows what else tossed on the seat in a pile. Children do spill things in their car seats quite often.

Either the seat cover was switched out with Georges or someone washed the seat cover before law enforcement took the car. Also in picture 4 you can see more than enough seat belt harness than would be needed for a child of Caylee's size. When I took the seat covers off of my daughters' car seats I always had to remove the harness completely and then reattach it when I put the seat cover back on. It looks to me like whoever reattached the seat belt harness did so in such a hurry that they did not reattach it properly for Caylee's size.

IMO of course

well I have been saying all along that LE should have taken that car ASAP.

I applaud your efforts Lizzysf but I still think these are the same car seats. The FBI statement "under the circumstances" could mean that they have proof Caylee died somewhere other than the car seat.

Agree. Spilled milk now.. they have done a good job, IMO..just a bit rough out of the gates. I guess you could say alot was going on, but on the other hand.. "smells like a d@mn dead body in the car" on the 911 call? :banghead:
Hmmm.

I applaud your efforts as well, lizzy. :) You certainly have tried to sleuth this out one way or another.

Welcome! I am still on the fence about the car seat issue, but I wouldn't put it past CA to have washed the car seat cover and I agree that it is a nightmare to remove and reattach the car seat pieces after a washing. Knowing that CA washed the pants and wiped the baby doll's face I could well imagine CA washing the car seat cover too because a car seat in a car that smelled "like a dead body has been in the damn car" most assuredly would require a good scrubbing. If she and KC had the same model car seat, she could have easily switched them out prior to washing the stinky one...which brings to mind what really caused the dogs to hit in the backyard, maybe it was because CA washed off the car seat itself while starting the laundry. :waitasec:

IIRC, the people who looked at the trunk also thought it was oddly clean. I've always maintained that it would have been easy to rinse off the wheel well cover (with that awful decomp stain) out in the back yard with a hose, propping it up by either the sandbox or playhouse. Not to mention using the wetvac to clean it with solvents (many of which have chloroform) and then dump the wetvac contents out by the pool, which was directly out the back door of the garage. I didn't notice a laundry tub in the garage, but that might have also been where things were initially rinsed.

Didn't they need to get a search warrant before they could take the car?
