I think Mr. Birch had seconds thoughts and that is why he made a beeline down to retrieve the trash bag from the dumpster in his PJ's. Want to think after going to bed he went over what happened that day and felt he did smell decomp in the car and maybe he better go get the bag and then call LE. If he had found the bag, he would have called it in.Who races in the middle of the night to retrieve a bag in your PJ's?? JMO

Maybe Mr. Birch just did not want to get involved. Look at the person who called DCF asking if CA had to have a daycare license to babysit after the 48 Hours program. BC claims the A's may sue for harassment. This is why people just do not want to get involved today.
I don't know Lambchop. He seems as though he not afraid to do his part.

Way back body farm dump. The evidence garages findings were right before the body farm findings.
The death band: Fbi email says I can not confirm this hair is from a human decomposing body.
Entomology: Can not confirm is from human decomposition.
Links would help...cause I'm still not sure what you're referencing.

CSI Bloise's report indicates he began processing the car at 7:46 PM on July 16, less than 24 hours after Cindy's 911 calls.

Oh that also confirms that no search warrant was required, so that is another confirmed piece for our mythbuster.

I'd like to know a little more about the suicide car. Was the body in the car...or in the trunk? I can't remember. It was Mr. Birch who called about the trash? I thought GA told LE about it first. I'm confused.

NTS I am not trying to be difficult but could you please provide page numbers and links so I can see the context of the statements you are semi- paraphrasing. I still do not know what evidence garage you are referring to.

If Caylee was still missing this would be something to chew on, but Caylee is dead and she died at the hand of her mother and was stored in her mother's car.

Exactly!!! My question to Notthatsmart: No one saw Caylee after June 16th. None of these people saw Caylee after that date: Amy, Ricardo, JP, Jesse, Tony, Jonathon, Annie, Cindy, George, Lee, Mallory, Sean, Patrick, etc. Where do you think Caylee was?

Makes zero difference for this conversation NTS.

We are talking about the perception of everyone that came into contact with the car thinking it was human decomp.Completely irrelevant if it was or wasn't. Since every single person that is documented that came into contact with the car thought it was human decomp, the converation is about what should have been done based on the perception.
So if you want to discuss the issue of whether it actually was decomp it is another subject entirely and please find the appropriate thread . I think there is a thread called Decomp smell, might want to search and bump.

ETA: Ok I see we have afew converastions going on. My bad carry on.

LOL: And aren't we glad that most people still do do the right thing and report their concerns. Isn't that why we are here in WS to show our concerns....even those who are pro KC? There are some great people posting here. I just hate to see us losing some of them because of frustrations. JMO

Sorry about that. I will try elsewhere.

Who is frustrated over this topic? I am confused.

I am glad people get involved and my hat is off to Birch for doing his part.
My only point was that since we are faulting GA and CA for not calling LE based on the decomp smell, then we should fault Birch as well. IMO, we shouldn;t fault any of them because I think calling LE was still premature at that point. once more information was revealed everyone went to LE and that was the right thing to do.

I've been re-visiting some of the earliest documents released last year and re-read pg's 1-50 of YM's written case report including his request of Detective Beasley to go to the A's and "recover the defendant's car". "Once at the house, she placed evidence tape on the doors and trunk..."

starts abt pg 16:

Re-reading this helped "refresh" parts of the timeline!

Thank you, that is good and I think someone posted that earlier. but does it tell us when Beasly did that? I mean what time? can we deduce it from other info. I am tyring to put a mini timeline together for the mythbuster to put this issue to bed!

These are the pieces and parts we need to confirm the timeline of sealing off the car:

1.What time was the 3rd 911 call which was the first report of the dead body odor to LE.
2. According to GA's interview he told YM about the decomp odor when he first saw him. What date and time was that?
3.What time did YM instruct Beasley to seal off the car?
4. what time was KC alone with the car in the garage? was it before or after it was sealed off?
5. Did the first responding officers note the decomp smell?
we have determined it was sealed off and we know that no search warrant was required ;both very important points.

According to the report above, YM arrived on the seen at 0045.
ETA: nope he was notified of the incident at 0045. It also says it was 7/15. Well, if it was after midnight then that would make it the 16th. So YM didn't get there till pretty early in the am (1am-1:30am?)

But that wasn''t until after he watched the news IIRC.

What I mean is, if we are finding fault with GA and CA not calling the authorities when they smelled the decomp, then we have to recall that Birch didn't call the cops when he smelled decomp either. To take it a step further, he recognized exactly what it was and said so.

In reality I wouldn't expect any of them to actually call until they perhaps got more information which is precisiely what happened. They both found out more and they both called. CA and GA both reported on the 15th what they had uncovered and Birch contacted authorities also.

I don't think most people would jump to the conclusion that someone actually was dead in the car and call LE .We have hindsight, none of them did. So it is easy to say we would have called based on the smell. But Mr. Birch is a perfect example of a regular joe with nothing to hide and no stake in the whole thing and he did not call LE and report a car with the smell of a human decomposing.

Mr. Birch related a story about a car being in the impound yard for two weeks with a dead body in it, and the smell of that car. So he knew what that odor was. But, he was with George when George opened the trunk of the car, and could see there was no body.

Mr. Birch may have been in a quandary about what to do. He knew what the car smelled like, but he also knew he didn't see a dead body in the car.

what time was the first phone call? and what time did the first officers arrive? They arrived at the end of the last phone call if that helps.

Exactly! the same applies to GA and CA. That's what I am trying to say. It would have been premature for CA,GA or SB to have contacted LE at that point. Because no one really knew what the heck was going on.

3. researched and posted earlier today
4. (#1) hours before it was sealed
4. (#2) I searched for hours today and couldn't find anything

haha thanks beanE. I didn't know we had a time for the seal off instructions, sorry beane. I was just trying to put the info in one post.

I disagree. You have a stranger who owns a towyard. Then you have grandparents who were practically parents who hadn't seen a baby in a month, one of whom is former LE, the other of whom is a R.N., both of whom knew they were smelling decomp, and both of whom knew their daughter had been crossing serious boundaries and committing crimes for years. IMO it's bizarre under those circumstances that they weren't on the phone to LE screaming their heads off.
