Casey Anthony reportedly planning to dump lawyer Jose Baez

IIRC JB's home was under water (as were other players) and he just walked away from it as a loss.

What do you mean cyber? That it was flooded?

I had read that he owed twice as much as the home was worth. Insurance coverage is based on value and what is owed on a mortgage but within reason. They usually do not insure loan value if it is twice what a property is worth.

I fail to understand how he could walk away from it without consequences if insurance would only pay out the property value, not the loan amount.

But...I understand nothing about real estate law or insurance law. Only trying to apply common sense, which may be contrary to either law.

I have been unable to find anything googling for any confirmation about JB.
I didn't see anything on the Fox news site.
Has anyone been able to confirm this or video it?
Has this been repeated?
Is it being tweeted?
I am tuned in to Fox News now.

There is an old thread about the first foreclosures back in July 2010 over here:

[ame="http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=110341"]Jose Baez Both Homes in Foreclosure - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community[/ame]

Page 8 and, if I remember correctly, page 17 had some good info on what was going on at that time.

However, I can find no mention anywhere online, MSM or public records, that verifies a current foreclosure and/or change of address for JB. Wish I could.

Same here. I can't find any verification of JB moving to Miami or that his house is in foreclosure. I did not see the Fox clip personally. I'm still looking for confirmation. Who here saw the Fox clip?

"Under water" is a term that means you owe more than the asset is worth.

I haven't done any sleuthing yet because I don't want to spoil my fun - just for a few minutes.....:innocent:

When contacted by @nbcnews #josebaez would neither confirm nor deny @nypost report #caseyanthony is firing him.

BBM. Nope. Under water is a term that it is worth less than is owed / purchased.

Thank you!

I suspected as much, but really know nothing about real estate foreclosure, etc.

All I can say is OMG! I haven't been able to log in this morning and can't believe all the knew news!! I don't know whether to laugh or cry. I think we know OCA better than anyone in the world. didn't we all predict this?

OCA = SATAN

After defending her for almost FREE, she now dumps him because she isn't making a fortune. I had to type it because I'm truly in disbelief.

Personally, I think he dissed her. I truly think she thought she was going to be the new Mrs Baez and is now throwing him to the curb for spite. She probably figured she'd live the life of luxury and be his PARALEGAL. just typing that made me laugh! :floorlaugh:

I think KARMA is unfolding before our eyes!!. LOL

I can't find anything at all about this in public records. No foreclosure, I mean. Anyone else??? It should be in public records if he has a recent foreclosure. :waitasec:
There's an old thread on it, started about the same time the Anthony's were threatened with foreclosure.

Geraldo Rivera on FoxNews now stating Jose Baez has moved to Miami and his home was foreclosed upon.

Cheney Mason will represent Casey on the appeals.

Wonder if they have done what many others have done..and walk away..I would venture a guess they, like many in FL, are upside down, on their mortgage.

He purchased that home when the FL real estate market was HOT, it is reported he paid $670,000 for it and it is currently appraised at less than $300,000

I believe we have a thread on this subject.

Baez said the other day on GR he was still representing OCA on the appeal...so something has changed since that interview?

This is old news.

I said it was old  I was just linking the article to show that it had already been in foreclosure once. Apparently, it's in foreclosure again and we're trying to sleuth the info to see if it's true.

Actually I remember him sliding around on that one and humming and hawing and saying Mason and the young woman who works for him - with the dark hair and glasses were doing the appeals. When asked if he was "still on the case" he said "there is no case!".
