The mentally ill think they are fine and the fine try to claim they are mentally ill. Heh...

ETA: I meant that as a snarky comment toward criminals.

  • #442
I have this feeling the defence, grasping at straws, will claim that she is "mentally challenged" and it was as of yet, undiagnosed.

  • #443
I have not yet seen Nancy Grace, but I'm wondering what will be the next claim:

Casey is slightly learning disabled and/or brain damaged and cannot stand trial?

What do you have to say about her mental state?

I can see JB in court now saying " The seizure made her do it".
Then theres also PND or PNP.
I know she is definately borderline, which explains alot of her behaviour, but doesnt meet the criteria for an insanity defence.
Thats why I think they'll go with the seizure/ brain damage defence.

  • #444
Yes, the seizure, exactly.
Oops, I meant to say "diminished capacity."

  • #445
I do not think being a "spiteful beotch" is the same as being mentally incompetent to stand trial.

:bling::bling::bling::bling::bling::bling::bling:

  • #446
The word "EVIL" comes to mind but it won't work for a legal defense. Been tried before.

  • #447
OK guys,

What about being a "robot" or "being put in a trance?"

I have been looking for this phrase all week. You all might not think this applies and I don't know anywhere the concept is explained further, but I have to wonder if KC were away from CA totally if something might change. I would not be surpried if in the end someone doesn't find that the whole family has been effected by someting like this concept tells. Too many elements are beyound strange.

What if she had no enablers? Personaly I believe KC should have been at a safe house with a shrink, only.

Folie à deux
Also called induced psychosis, folie à deux is a delusional disorder shared by two or more people who are closely related emotionally. One has real psychosis while the symptoms of psychosis are induced in the other or others due to close attachment to the one with psychosis. Separation usually results in symptomatic improvement in the one who is not psychotic.
Folie communiquée, folie imposée, folie induite, and folie simultanée are the four subtypes of folie à deux

I think she would connive her way out of there.

  • #450
I think Casey conned almost everyone in her life (that the public has been told about) into enabling her because everything was lies and manipulations.

  • #451
The plan may be have been to have Caylee adopted illegally so Casey had rights to see her, then Casey and Jesse get married. I think that's what she's been hiding.

And so far, they've only got her for stealing from her mother, and dancing.

WHY? What makes you think J & KC were ever going to marry? She was going to California to live with another man. Remember?

They have her for fraud, identity theft (which is a biggie involving the feds), check forgery, and child neglect/abuse. There are 27 serious charges I believe.

I can't wrap my mind around why you think this. Explain please.

JohnVaughanCauthen, can never stay up late enough to post with you, but would like to know if you can lead me in the direction of where you get the theory about Jesse & Casey still being in love, adoption, etc? am very interested in this and wonder if I've missed something somewhere?

Sounds like a "new" idea being floated to see how it washes.

Psychological profiles I've put together:
Cindy:
Overpowering personality; rules the home; central figure in the home; is on a pedestal of her own. Self-righteous and judgemental. Her MO is to attack people at a very personal level. She refuses to acknowledge any wrongdoing in her children because to do so would be like accepting her own failure at being a wife or mother - re: not being controlling enough; deep inside her there is this insecurity that causes her to be highly embarrased by her children's failures so no one outside her four walls should ever know what really happens at home. She feels bad at times for the punishment therefore she wil go thru periods where enabling occurs. Self proclaims herself as her daughter's best friend - a real fallacy as the way Casey feels about her is complete opposite. Casey never really lets mom in her "IN"circle - too much abuse of power has ocurred.

George:
Low self esteem; insecure, needs Cindy for guidance in life. Would never ever step in to confront the wife EVER to do so would create chaos in his life as she punishes him by removing love from him (would stop talking to him;sleeping in separate rooms). He is easy to manipulate. He knows that going to the extent of helping Casey (in hiding the body) would win Cindy's approval 100% and that would be better than to deal with a bitter wife-husband cold war.

Casey:
She is the rebellious child. This has been a long battle for her as Cindy would not accept that - instead Cindy would prefer daughter a certain 'other' way perhaps like a mini-version of Cindy (who thinks is perfect). She probably grew up contantly being compared to others, picked apart and graded by her mother. The expectations of her mother are never met or are so high anyone would give up. A real aggressive put down attack by Cindy goes on thru Casey's life; wounding her along the way. The punishment was removal of love (not talking\not even look at her for weeks) which scars her forever. As a result Casey learns that by lying she is protecting herself from Cindy's wrath. She lies to protect herself and make it look like she "act in ways that mom approves" and ends up with no personality of her own (must morf into personalities that mother accepts). Over time she loses track of herself and the ability to connect emotionally to anyone. Tension builds up and this type of person can become extremely irate in a split second. Has multiple sex partners to whom she does not connect emotionally; sex is an escape from reality. She knows how to work the circle of punishment/enabling that mom exercises to her advantage. The ultimate way to get back at her mother would be by removing what has become Cindy's love obesssion, Caylee. She is now the "Spiteful Beotch" -

Lee:
To be fair I won't say much about Lee except he has shown some level of dysfunctionality and in not as great scale he lies to cover for the others. He did move out of the house a while back, so as it stands he is the only member of this family on better path where he can actually wake up and gain control of the situation for himself; saving himself from the dysfunctionality of the home.

The family dinamics: Cindy on pedestal, who must not let be down. The "show must go on at all costs" attitude even at the emotional costs of each member. Can't let mom down; and no one can attempt to confront the sovereignty of the mother unless they can handle feeling like chopped liver. If one of the members does not go along, he/she will be accused of disgracing the unit. You must be there for one another including covering up and lying for others. Cindy first; everyone else second and third.

Scary how many people I know that fit this.

I have not seen nor heard any form of Psychosis in either woman.

Since the beginning of this case, I have heard “experts” refer to Casey as being one of these two personalities and it has been about 50/50 as to which she was. It got me interested in discovering the true difference between the two words. To me, they both seem to be about the same. I have always thought that a Psychopath would kill and a Sociopath probably would not but I’m probably wrong. It’s very confusing to me and I remembered my cousin (who is a Psychotherapist) and me getting in this debate a couple of years ago. Tell me what you think after reading this little test. No matter what she is labeled, the very fact that Caylee is gone (dead or alive) and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance proves something if very, very wrong with Casey. However, I firmly believe she will stand trial and if JB tries to use any mental illness as a defense, it will miserably fail. She has all her faculties and then some in my opinion!

Determining Psychopath vs. Sociopath

Sociopath: Someone whose social behavior is extremely abnormal. Sociopaths are interested only in their personal needs and desires, without concern for the effects of their behavior on others.

Psychopath: A mentally unbalanced person. A person with an antisocial personality disorder, especially one manifested in perverted, criminal, or amoral behavior.

Read this question, come up with an answer and then scroll down to the bottom for the result. This is not a trick question. It is as it reads. No one I know has gotten it right.

A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing.
She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but never asked for his number and could not find him.
A few days later she killed her sister.

Question: What is her motive for killing her sister?

[Give this some thought before you answer, see answer below]

If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath.

This was a test by a famous American Psychologist used to determine if one has the same mentality as a killer.

Many arrested serial killers took part in the test and answered the question correctly.

If you didn't answer the question correctly, good for you and all who know you.

If you got the answer correct, please let me know so I can take your crazy butt off my friends list, LOL!
